In an effort to support the actualization of the vision of Diponegoro University as a World Class University and leading Vocational School that goes international, Undip Vocational School held an internationalization program namely the Summer School program, the program was attended by 20 foreign students from 17 countries on Monday (11/8) at the Tembalang Undip Campus Vocational School Hall.
The event was leaded by the Head of the Undip Vocational School Summer School program Stacia Reviany Mege, M.S.M. “Vocational International Program (VIP) is an annual program organized by the Vocational School, Diponegoro University, Semarang, Indonesia ” she said.
“The aim is to bring international enthusiasm wrapped in the traditional atmosphere of Indonesia. In order to achieve these goals, a variety of educational and cultural activities are carried out. Participants for this summer school activity are students ranging from the beginning and end of the year from the Vocational School both national and international. Participants will stay in the local environment and be involved in activities that have been scheduled. Active participation from the participants will help them to get a better understanding of the local wisdom of Indonesian culture.
Stacia explained that the Vocational International Program (VIP 2019) Summer School was planned to be held in Central Java on 12 to 23 August 2019 and will be collaborated with the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland, IMI International Management Institute Switzerland, Akashi National College of Technology, Japan, and Tokyo University Japan. Participants of the Summer School and Immersion Program will also do internships at several plantations in the Regency of Wonosobo such as coffee, tea and cocoa plantation.
The Dean of the Undip Vocational School Prof.Budiyono hopes that the 2019 Summer School activity is expected to become a medium in establishing cooperation with other higher education institutions abroad and attracting foreign students. Other opportunities for international cooperation activities are expected to be more open through the holding of this Summer School activity, such as research collaboration, student and lecturer exchanges, and international conferences.
