Diponegoro University students achieve brilliant achievements with their work by winning the 2020 National Unmanned Fast Boat Contest. The 2020 National Unmanned Fast Boat Contest / Kontes Kapal Cepat Tak Berawak Nasional (KKCTBN) is held at University of Muhammadiyah Malang with the theme “Maritime Technology Innovation in Handling Covid-19”. The student teams from Naval Architecture become representatives of Undip to participate in the event organized by National Achievement Center, Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia. This event aims to develop innovations from ideas of nation’s children in overcoming the Covid-19 pandemic, in the field of maritime and shipping technology.
Undip sent four student teams that successfully won the championship with the designs they created. The contest winners are announced on November 7th 2020 and the achievements achieved by representatives of Undip are: 1st place of hospital ship design category, 3rd place of ambulance ship design category, 1st runner up of Ro-ro ship design category, and 1st runner up of ERC (Electric Remote Control) Boat design category.
The success that has been achieved is something to be proud of because Undip students contribute their knowledges for the development of technology in Indonesia, especially in the maritime and shipping fields. These achievements are inseparable from the support of lecturers who guided the students to innovate advanced technology. Undip continues to support the students to create useful innovation for the people of Semarang and Indonesia. This action in line with one of the goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which is make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. It is hoped that this new innovation can make our lives easier in this pandemic situation.
