DWP Undip Held Regular Prayer with the Theme of “Becoming a Person Who Always Thinks Positively

Friday (25/06) – Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of Diponegoro University held routine prayer activities. On this occasion the theme discussed is “Becoming a Person Who Always Thinks Positively”. The activity was opened by reading of Surah Al-Fatihah and continued with the Reading of the Holy Qur’an which was read by Mrs. Eka Nalis Danawati with Recitations by Mrs. Nurlela Suryatiningsih. Next is the speech delivered by Mrs. Suswahyuni Sularto who is the Head of DWP of UNDIP Postgraduate School. In her speech, Mrs. Suswahyuni said that the theme of today’s prayer is a fundamental thing in the life of a human being. As humans we should be grateful to be given common sense so that we become creatures of Allah SWT who have the highest degree compared to other creatures. Thus we must use our common sense to think, speak and behave as well as the creatures created by Allah SWT. The next speech was by the Chairperson of UNDIP DWP who was represented by 3rd Deputy Chair for Social and Economic Affairs, Mrs. Anita Dwi Cahyo Utomo.

After the speech, the activity continued with discussion by dr. Fathur Nur Kholis, Sp.PD-KP. Regarding the theme of event carried today namely “Becoming a Person Who Always Thinks Positively”, dr. Fathur mentioned the importance of how we as humans can identify our thoughts at any time. Whether it is negative or positive thoughts, we as humans surely can change negative thoughts into positive ones. dr. Fathur conveyed an analogy about positive thinking through patients who are infected with the Covid-19 virus. The importance of positive thinking in each patient’s personality will support the acceleration of the healing process. Positive thoughts which owned by a patient will provide psychological encouragement. It will indirectly help the physical condition to improve in achieving healing.

Perceptions that exist in the human mind will also create conditions for positive or negative thinking. As someone who does not really understand the current pandemic conditions, it will be easier to create negative perceptions and thoughts about the surrounding environment. Positive thinking will create a good perception. Of course the recovery process of a patient is not only determined by positive thinking, but a good state of mind is also part of a person’s recovery. It is an effort that is not easy but it will have a big impact on every individual being by thinking positively, especially in situations like nowadays.
