Semarang, August 16th 2021 – Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (Pengenalan Kehidupan Kampus bagi Mahasiswa Baru / PKKMB) is an event for higher education leaders to introduce and prepare new students into mature and independent students. Like in 2020, Introduction to Campus Life for New Students in this year will be held online again to reduce the spread of Covid-19. In the implementation of the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students, it is hoped that it will become an event to socialize the policy of Free Learning – Independent Campus, and to explain programs of National Mental Revolution Movement, namely Indonesia Serving, Clean Indonesia, Orderly Indonesia, Independent Indonesia, and United Indonesia.
The theme for this year’s Introduction to Campus Life for New Students held by Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Undip is “Acceptance at Social Life in Embracing Humanity Values” with values to be upheld, namely humanity, adaptability, unity, contribution, critical thinking and global insight. “This series of events is held online but supported with good technological capabilities, so we can greet each other and the quality of this event will be maintained,” said Robetmi Jumpakita Pinem, S.AB, MBA as the Chair of Committee of Introduction to Campus Life for New Students and Character Education at Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Undip. She remains optimistic that new students can increase their capacity in the midst of the current digital era.
Introduction to Campus Life for New Students of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Undip began on August 16th 2021 at 08:00 AM, and was attended by approximately 950 students from undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. The event began with the opening by the MC and continued with singing the anthem Indonesia Raya. Then, it was continued by the Dean of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Undip in delivering his remarks, opening, and official acceptance statements. The Dean also introduced the Structural Officials of the Faculty, Department, and Study Program. “Please explore on the learning process at Undip. Quickly adapt, become agile and tough learners, welcome the next generation of superior, independent, and responsible people,” said Dr. Drs. Hardi Warsono, MTP., Dean of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Diponegoro University.
After that, Deputy Dean II of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences conveyed information about campus facilities. In this activity, new students gain insight into the Higher Education System which was explained by Deputy Dean I; National Insight and State Defense presented by Dr. Drs. Muhammad Adnan, MA; National Movement for Mental Revolution by Dr. Drs. Turnomo Raharjo, M.Si; Free Learning – Independent Campus by Dr. Reni Shinta Dewi, S.Sos., M.Sc. , Student Creativity Program and Student President by Robetmi Jumpakita Pinem, S.AB., MBA.; and Introduction of Study Programs by Head of Study Programs at Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Undip.
Robetmi Jumpakita Pinem, S.AB, MBA, Head of Student Achievement Unit at Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Undip 2021 stated that in this pandemic situation, it is hoped that the students will still learn about various things, actively participate in training, national or international competitions, and so on. “We from Student Achievement Unit team at Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Undip also inform that if there are students who are confused in finding information or team can directly ask us. Hopefully the students of Class of 2021 can be more successful in the future.”
This event is not only introducing and providing materials of Introduction to Campus Life for New Students, but also enlivened with new innovations from Student Executive Board of Faculty of Social and Political Sciences Undip 2021.
