As one of the best higher education institutions in Indonesia, Diponegoro University (Undip) is committed to always upholding integrity, by ensuring that each unit in it carries out good and accountable performance by providing excellent service to all internal and external stakeholders. Undip’s success was again proven at the end of this year with the achievements of the Faculty of Engineering Undip as Integrity Zones towards Corruption-Free Area (ZI-WBK).
This predicate was given to Undip and other institutions in Indonesia at the “Appreciation and Awarding of Integrity Zones towards WBK/WBBM 2021” which was held offline and online by the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (Kementerian PANRB). Presented as Undip representatives, namely the Dean of Faculty of Engineering Undip, Prof. Ir. M. Agung Wibowo, MM, MSc, PhD., along with his staff, at the 4th floor of the FT Undip Dean Building at 08:00 AM to take part in the virtual event.
Deputy for Bureaucratic Reform, Apparatus Accountability, and Supervision of the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, Prof. Dr. Erwan Agus Purwanto, M.Sc., stated that all institutions strive to be the best in realizing the mission of Advanced Indonesia with International Competitiveness. The awarding of the Integrity Zones is carried out through a transparent evaluation of public services and anti-corruption bureaucratic practices.
“This is not only a ranking competition, but the WBK (Corruption Free Area) / WBBM (Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Region) unit can be a role model for performance integrity. 10 leaders of change and 558 agents of change pioneers have been selected from various government agencies. It is hoped that this title can boost the spirit of integrity in the agency’s zone,” said Erwan Agus.
Carrying the theme “Making Change, Making History”, the Ministry of PANRB cooperates with institutions to enforce the bureaucracy in carrying out development programs effectively and efficiently as a form of service to the community, nation and state. Important steps in establishing the Integrity Zones include upholding high commitment, prioritizing ease of service, running programs that touch the community, sustainable monitoring and evaluation, and effective media management.
According to the Minister of PANRB of the Republic of Indonesia, H. Tjahjo Kumolo, S.H., the concept of bureaucratic reform is a catalyst for good and clean governance for better governance. “The achievement is marked by excellent public services in a fast and efficient manner. The speed of bureaucratic reform shows adaptive government management by creating innovations along with globalization,” said the Minister of PANRB RI.
The Faculty of Engineering Undip becomes a pilot project in Undip’s efforts to become a WBK which is free from corruption, collusion and nepotism, extortion, brokers, and bribes; carrying out excellent service; and its work program can bring direct benefit to the community. The declaration of Faculty of Engineering Undip as WBK 2021 under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology is a proud and sustainable achievement in realizing bureaucratic reform.
Prof. Ir. M. Agung Wibowo, MM, MSc, PhD., as the Dean of Faculty of Engineering Undip expressed his gratitude to all parties who have played roles in advancing Faculty of Engineering Undip. He hoped that this achievement could support Undip’s vision of becoming a World Class University. “All institutions are striving to be the best, to become more qualified in serving the community. It is time for us as educational institutions to also innovate as agents of change. It is hoped that this WBK title can become a culture for us, as a work culture, mindset and attitude. Working well without corruption and producing service innovations are the mandates for all of us to work systematically and sustainably so that in the next 2 (two) years the Faculty of Engineering Undip can achieve the predicate of WBBM.
