Semarang-Central Java (14/10) – Diponegoro University (Undip) is committed to always upholding Prince Diponegoro’s values, namely the values of honesty, courage, caring and justice. The implementation of these noble values is realized by giving awards to professors who have contributed to their knowledge contribution to Undip, the wider community, and the Indonesian nation.
To give appreciation and respect to the late Professors, the Undip Rector inaugurated the Pilar Cendekia. These pillars can be seen along Prof. Soedarto, S.H. Street, Tembalang. The inauguration of Pilar Cendekia was held on Friday, October 14, 2022 morning and became part of the series of events for the 65th Anniversary of Diponegoro University.
The inauguration of the Pilar Cendekia was attended by the Chair and Secretary of the Academic Senate, the Chair and Secretary of the Board of Professors, the Deputy Board of Trustees, the Vice Rectors, the Head of the Academic and Student Affairs Bureau, as well as representatives from the family of the late Prof. Dr. Muladi, S.H.
The inauguration of the Pilar Cendekia was carried out symbolically on the pillar of Prof. Dr. Muladi, S.H. with the release of 65 (sixty five) balloons symbolizing the celebration of the 65th Anniversary of Diponegoro University, witnessed by the wife of the late Prof. Dr. Muladi, S.H., Mrs. Hj. Nanny Ratna Asmara Muladi and her family.
“Alhamdulillah, we have the opportunity to inaugurate the Pilar Cendekia, according to the Javanese philosophy of mikul duwur mendhem jero. This is historical evidence that Undip has many great professors who are active not only on the national level but also global level,” said Prof. Yos.
Undip Rector stated that until now the number of professors at Undip is 168 (one hundred and sixty eight) people. The existence of the Pilar Cendekia is also intended to motivate young lecturers to continue their studies and achieve professorship degrees.
Mrs. Hj. Nanny Ratna Asmara Muladi expressed her gratitude to Undip for the award given to the late Prof. Dr. Muladi, S.H. “It is an honor for us, wife, children and big family. Hopefully, the name of the deceased can be remembered and his useful knowledge can be an example by the Undip family,” said Mrs. Nanny Muladi. (Titis, Ut, As/Public Relations)
