Wednesday (11/01/2023), in Krajan Sub-Village, Cikadu Village, Watukumpul District, Pemalang Regency, digital wallet education and training programs were carried out with the Q-Ris system. The programs were carried out to several shops and businesses around the Cikadu Village area. The main targets are grocery stores and food vendors. The community indeed has very minimal knowledge regarding the use of digital wallets. Even those who are considered teenagers also do not know the Q-Ris system itself. Therefore the main point is introduction and education, starting from the understanding, benefits, terms and several applications that have been guaranteed so that they can be accessed safely. For those who are interested in registering, facilities are provided in the form of services to assist registration, in addition to the process of printing barcodes and attaching them to shop windows. Some residents are excited because they just found out about such a sophisticated system.
The development of the digital wallet ecosystem in Indonesia itself is also growing rapidly. This was driven during the pandemic last year, causing the digital wallet phenomenon to be considered very effective for transaction transformation. Thus causing the existence of digital wallets to accelerate in the business world, especially in urban areas. Digital transformation that is still lagging behind is one of the backgrounds for this education and training. It is hoped that one day when the people of Cikadu Village were facing this digital wallet phenomenon, they already have the provision of it.
Educational activities were carried out through ten shops that sell various products, starting from grocery stores, basic food shops, workshops, cosmetic stores, and various other businesses.
Next is the process of distributing bar codes to several shops interested in registering the Q-Ris system. This process is quite time-consuming considering the bar codes appear from the application system, within 14-30 days.
This activity was warmly welcomed by traders and business actors. High enthusiasm made them interested in carrying out this training. However, there are several problems considering that Cikadu Village has low mobility in using digital wallets, so doubts to use this system still arise. It can even be said that it is still rare and the understanding is still minimal. This is supported by the age factor where most sellers from grocery stores are elderly. Thus the understanding and education of the Q-Ris system is still low.
Meanwhile, the younger generation highly supports this system considering that digital wallets are one of the boomerangs to fight the global market. In the current era, the use of digital wallets in big cities is very high mobility. This is also supported by the younger generation of traders or business actors in Cikadu Village. “At first I wanted to use this system but I was still unsure and didn’t know how to use it, thanks to this socialization it was easier for me and assisted in the registration and verification process,” said Mr. Mujib as the entrepreneur of Berkah Jaya Motor Workshop.
Besides being easy to use, you can get various benefits. That is, merchants are facilitated with this payment system considering that they do not need to provide change and can avoid counterfeit money. QR can be made to various applications to make transactions and the payment can be made via online.
From this education and training activity, it is hoped that the community will be more open and literated towards technological advances, with the aim to simplify all business matters and promote business with a financial management system. Since control of income in a business can be seen from mutations, with the Q-Ris system on digital wallets, it becomes a solution for digital market transformation.
