Electrical Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, UNDIP Always Keeps Up With Technological Developments

The results of the 2023 SNBT (Test-Based National Selection) were announced through the official portal of the National Selection for New Student Admissions (SNPMB) on Tuesday (20/6/2023). For those who have yet to pass through the SNBT route, Diponegoro University is opening new student admissions for the Undergraduate Independent Examination (UM) from May 12 to June 25, 2023. Undip has 120 study programs, 15 of which have international accreditation. One study program that can be an option and has promising job prospects is the Electrical Engineering study program.

The Electrical Engineering study program at Diponegoro University was officially established on December 6, 1982, has been accredited A by BAN-PT for five consecutive periods since 1998, and has been accredited Excellent in 2021. In addition, Electrical Engineering Undip also obtained International Accreditation (General Accreditation) by IABEE in 2021, so graduates are considered equivalent to graduates from other campuses abroad.

It is supported by complete facilities consisting of 7 (seven) education and research labs, with equipment to help lectures and research with technological developments, which are continually updated.

Aghus Sofwan, S.T., M.T., Ph.D. as Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Undip, explained that the Electrical Engineering study program has 5 (five) specializations, namely Electrical Power Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Electronics, Control Engineering, and Information Technology that are relevant to the needs of the world of work. Students begin to choose specializations in semester 5.

Furthermore, in Electrical Power Engineering, students learn about current or high voltage engineering, starting from electricity generation, transmission, distribution, as well as the utilization of electrical tools and machines. While Telecommunications Engineering studies telecommunications systems and signal processing. Then Electronics Engineering studies the design and manufacture of electronic circuits, including electronic components, sensors, instrumentation, and systems. Meanwhile, Control Engineering explores the modeling of control and automation systems, including robotics, instrumentation, and control systems for industry. As for Information Technology, it studies the design and use of technology for managing and utilizing information, including for mobile and data applications.

Specifically, the field of work includes electrical engineering, signal, and information processing, such as at PLN, PT Telkom, electronic components and equipment companies (PT Polytron, PT Borine Technology, etc.), PT Schneider, and many IT companies. In addition, many alumni also work in fields adjacent to engineering, such as consulting, banking, and others.

Undip graduates are COMPLETE (Communicator, Professional, Leader, Thinker, Entrepreneur) and ready to work. Diponegoro University is the number one campus whose graduates quickly get jobs, according to the QS WUR for Graduate Employability Rankings for 2021 and 2022.

Alumni of the Electrical Engineering study program, Faculty of Engineering, FM Venusiana R., currently serves as Director of Enterprise & Business Service at PT Telkom Indonesia. When interviewed by the Undip Public Relations team during his busy schedule on Thursday (22/6), he expressed his pride in graduating from Undip, one of the best campuses in Indonesia. He emphasized, “Studying at Undip Electrical Engineering does not only lay a strong foundation of competence in Technical Thinking but also End2End Framework Thinking.
