After carrying out campus hiring activities for approximately one week, representatives of PT Unilever Oleochemical Indonesia concluded a series of trips by visiting the Diponegoro University Vocational School Campus (SV UNDIP) on Wednesday, June 28, 2023. PT Unilever Oleochemical Indonesia, represented by Mr. Khairul Sahidun as Assistant HR Manager, was welcomed by Mr. Mohamad Endy Julianto, S.T., M.T. as Head of the Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology Study Program (TRKI Study Program) SV Undip. He was accompanied by young lecturers from the TRKI Study Program, namely Anggun Puspitarini Siswanto, S.T., Ph.D. (Head of the Undip International Office) and Hermawan Dwi Ariyanto, S.T., M.Sc., Ph.D. (Research Coordinator Study Program). This visit is part of a collaborative initiative that can support the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, particularly in achieving Key Performance Indicators in PTN-BH and the Strategic Plan.

On this occasion, a visit was made to the Biodiesel Miniplant of the Undip Vocational School, where the management is under the TRKI Study Program. This Biodiesel Miniplant has great potential to be jointly developed with PT Unilever Oleochemical Indonesia, including in the cosmetics industry. Furthermore, cooperation can also be produced regarding the preparation of Human Resources, in this case, final-year students at the TRKI SV Undip Study Program. To face the world of work, collaboration is needed, known as the triple helix collaboration, where collaboration involves educational institutions, industry, and government. The incorporated curriculum is the main discourse that can be developed further with an implementation that is right on target.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Budiyono, M.Si., as the Dean of the Diponegoro University Vocational School, responded positively to the potential for collaboration developed by the Study Program. “To achieve the Vocational School’s vision as a superior vocational education center, we support cooperation programs, especially with industry, including developing activities supporting work-ready graduates. The continuation of the Industrial Revolution 4.0 and also Society 5.0 has made the dynamics of the post-college world even higher. Therefore, we need to prepare graduates to have global competitiveness, including hard and soft skills,” as stated by Prof. Budiyono. It’s time for Vocational Champion! (AS)
