Computer Engineering Undergraduate Program, Faculty of Engineering, UNDIP Underwent Field Assessment from LAM INFOKOM

The Computer Engineering Study Program underwent a field assessment from the Informatics & Computer Independent Accreditation Institute (LAM INFOKOM). This field assessment was held offline for two days on Thursday-Friday, July 20-21, 2023, at the Engineering Hall, Dean Building, floor 5, and Computer Engineering Department Undip. In this assessment, Prof. Dra. Sri Hartati, M.Sc, Ph.D. from UGM, and Dr. Ir. Adhi Dharma Wibawa, S.T., M.T. from ITS to become a team of assessors who assessed the implementation of quality assurance in the Computer Engineering Department Undip.

LAM INFOKOM is an independent accreditation body initiated by the Association for Higher Education in Informatics and Computers (APTIKOM), Association for Information Systems Indonesia (AISINDO), and Indonesian Computer Electronics and Instrumentation Support Society (IndoCEISS). This institution is tasked with carrying out the accreditation process for study programs in informatics and computers and ensuring the fulfillment of higher education quality standards in these fields sustainably and systemically.

At the opening ceremony, which took place at the Engineering Hall, 5th Floor Dean Building, Undip Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof. Faisal, S.E., M.Si., Ph.D., was also present to give a speech. In his remarks, he conveyed the importance of this accreditation process for Diponegoro University. According to him, the existence of accreditation provides a clear picture of how far the quality improvement has been carried out by the Department of Computer Engineering and the Faculty of Engineering over the last five years. “This accreditation process will later describe how far the improvements we have made over the last five years. This achievement shows an increase in quality and an improvement in service at this Faculty,” he said.

In addition to the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, the Chairperson of LP2MP was also present along with the Faculty of Engineering leaders, heads of all departments in the Faculty of Engineering, Head and Secretary of the Computer Engineering Undergraduate Study Program, as well as staff from both the Computer Engineering Department and from related units in Faculty of Engineering. Dr. Ir. Adhi Dharma Wibawa, S.T., M.T., as a LAM INFOKOM assessor, said the Department of Computer Engineering Undip is an institution that often experiences ups and downs in rankings. He hopes that the field assessment process will run smoothly. “Computer Engineering has experienced many ups and downs. Hopefully, today’s accreditation will run well,” he said.

This field assessment was carried out over two days, where on the first day, the subject matter was more focused on identifying and confirming findings related to the implementation of the quality assurance program in the Faculty of Engineering and the Department of Computer Engineering. On the second day, it focused more on direct observation and confirmation of performance through interviews with lecturers, staff, students, and alumni.

Hopefully, the Computer Engineering Undergraduate Study Program can get positive results and a Superior rating from this field assessment.
