The Faculty of Psychology, Diponegoro University (Undip) presented the General Chairperson of PP HIMPSI, Dr. Andik Matulessy, M.Si., as one of the speakers on the first day of the Introduction to Campus Life for New Students (PKKMB) activities for the 2023/2024 academic year, on August 14, 2023.
On this occasion, the General Chairperson of PP HIMPSI conducted a Socialization of Law No. 23 of 2022 and its Implementation in Undergraduate Study Programs and General Psychologist Professional Programs. Guided by the moderator, who is the coordinator of the Faculty’s Student Consultation Board, Annastasia Ediati, S.Psi., M.Sc., Ph.D., New Students are pretty enthusiastic about asking questions about academic and career paths to become psychologists, opportunities to climb specialist levels and sub-specialties, as well as various challenges in the world of work. Dr. Andik Matulessy responded positively to the enthusiasm of the 385 undergraduate students and 51 master students and said that this moment was a critical moment for new students to explore the academic and career paths they would take.
On the first day of PKKMB, various materials were also presented, including (1) an introduction to campus facilities, (2) the higher education system and the Independent Learning Independent Campus (MBKM) policy, (3) undergraduate and postgraduate academic regulations, (4) student creativity programs. The Faculty of Psychology also presented the Head of the Undip Law Office, Sukinta, S.H., M.Hum., who specifically explained preventing sexual harassment and violence in the university environment.
On the 2nd day of PKKMB, held on August 15, 2023, the Head of BNN Central Java Province, Brigjend Pol. Drs. Heru Pranoto, M.Si., was present to give a public lecture on the War on Drugs Strategy Towards a Drug-Clean Campus. Brigjend Pol. Drs. Heru Pranoto, M.Si., expressed his appreciation for the Faculty of Psychology, which cares about Undip’s efforts to prevent drug abuse among students. On the 2nd day of PKKMB, other materials were also presented, such as (1) national insight, state defense, and fostering a national mental revolution movement, (2) culture, ethics, academic atmosphere, and campus life norms, (3) environmental awareness life, (4) introduction to academic information systems, research, and community service, (5) learning methods, (6) use of library facilities, (7) student services and scholarships, and (7) student activities.
Dean of the Faculty of Psychology Undip, Prof. Dian Ratna Sawitri, Ph.D. stated that the integration of material regarding psychology education in PKKMB was designed in line with the moment it was ratified on August 3, 2023, Law no. 23 of 2022 concerning Psychology Education and Services. While the invitation of the Head of the Undip Law Office was carried out in response to the high curiosity of students regarding strategies to prevent sexual harassment and violence in the tertiary environment, and a public lecture on the War on Drugs Strategy Towards a Clean Campus of Drugs was also carried out in response to demands from the academic community and parents of students. The hope is that, in undergoing their education at tertiary institutions, students are not disturbed by drug abuse and are aware of sexual harassment and violence so that they can focus on study and self-development and are confident in treading academic and career paths.
