The Village Community Empowerment Program (P2MD) is a concrete form of support from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemdikbudristek) of the Republic of Indonesia to create collaboration and strategic synergy between university staff, student organizations, local government, the private sector and the community.
This support is a hope to achieve a common goal so that vocational students can really hone their competencies so that they are able to compete globally. It is hoped that vocational students can make a breakthrough in the midst of the industrial era 4.0 and that students can help build and develop village communities to be more independent and prosperous. The village communities can increase their abilities and establish regional potential independently to improve the economy/alleviate the poverty line, which also includes the implementation of SDG 1: No poverty, SDG 2: Zero hunger, SDG 8: Decent work and economic growth, SDG 15: Life on land, SDG 16: Peace, justice, and strong institutions.
The Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology Student Association (HM TRKI) was declared to have passed the Batch 2 Village Community Empowerment Program (P2MD) selection in 2023. As with the Tri Dharma of Higher Education, one of which is Community Service, in its implementation HM TRKI will implement a program with the title “Vegetable Farmers Animal Feed Wafer (PESAWAT)” which seeks to empower village communities, chaired by Farid Maulana Yusuf (NIM 40040121650080) and Arien Bella Saputri (NIM 40040121650006) as representatives. Their team consists of 8 members and 6 volunteers from the Department of Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology, Vocational School, University Diponegoro, who were supervised by Dr. Fahmi Arifan, S.T., M.Eng.
The P2MD team aims to empower the residents of Losari Village, Sumowono District, Semarang, and Central Java to manage waste effectively and economically through technology for processing vegetable waste-based feed into livestock wafers and compost. Hopefully, this program can become a sustainable initiative in the Losari Village community, as well as facilitate the development of village community groups to maintain the sustainability of this program.
