Every year, on December 3, the International Day of Persons with Disabilities is commemorated. The commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities aims to increase understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights and welfare of people with disabilities. The theme promoted by the United Nations this year is “United in action to save and achieve the SDGs for, with, and by persons with disabilities.”
RSND (Diponegoro National Hospital), together with the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (KFR) Study Program, Faculty of Medicine Undip, PERDOSRI Jateng-DIY, and CBIOM3S participated in commemorating the International Day of Persons with Disabilities by holding a sharing session about stroke with the theme “Innovative to Achieve A Day for All. ” This event was held in a hybrid manner in the Hall on the 5th floor of the Central Lab, Faculty of Medicine Undip, to jointly discuss disability issues, especially regarding assistance and rehabilitation of post-stroke patients.
“Today’s main event is the commemoration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, education about stroke rehabilitation targeting caregivers, demonstrations of elbow, finger and shoulder therapy equipment for stroke patients, bionic hands and prosthetic legs for amputee patients, as well as the formation of a stroke patient caregiver association,” said dr. Hari Peni Julianti, M.Kes, Sp.K.F.R., Ger, (K), FISPH, FISCM., as chairman of the committee in her speech.
As the primary resource person, dr. Tanti Ajoe Kesoema, Sp.K.F.R., M.S.(K), M.Si.Med., who provided material with the title “Medical Rehabilitation Counseling for Stroke Patients.” Dr. Tanti offered practical tips and tricks for people with disabilities and their caregivers so they can carry out daily activities independently. “Today’s event is specifically dedicated to people with disabilities and their caregivers,” she concluded.
This activity also involved several resource persons to discuss stroke and disability before the Robotic Tour. The resource persons are dr. Endang Ambarwati, Sp.K.F.R., Ger.(K), dr. Erna Setiawati, Sp.K.F.R.,K.R.,(K), M.Si.Med, Idiawati Nurlim,S.Ft.,Physio and Dr. Rifky Ismail, S.T., M.T.
