The Diponegoro University Football Team succeeded in becoming runner-up in the 2023 Friendly Pancasila tournament, which was held from 12 to 14 May 2023 at the Pancasila Stadium, Gadjah Mada University (UGM).
The achievements that have been achieved are the result of thorough training and preparation. Ahmad Daffa Alaudin (Indonesian Literature class of 2020), as head of the Undip Football Team, admitted that he was happy to have succeeded in becoming a Runner-Up. “We’re certainly delighted we from Undip Football Student Activity Unit can be runner-up. Since the Covid-19 pandemic, it has been difficult for us to find tournaments. So once there was a tournament, I, as the head of the Student Activity Unit, no matter what, ended up going, and we managed to get the runner-up title,” he explained.
Previously, the Undip Football Team had participated in various prestigious championships. Apart from winning Runner up in the 2023 Friendly Pancasila tournament, one of the Undip Football Team players, Fariq Aqmal Dharmawangsa (Agribusiness class of 2022), managed to win the top scorer title with a score of 5 goals.
“We will try to participate in other student tournaments actively. If there is information, we will definitely try to take part in other tournaments,” said Daffa.
The 2023 Friendly Pancasila Tournament is a competition between university football teams at the Central Java and Yogyakarta regional levels organized by the UGM Football and Futsal Student Activity Unit.
This year’s match involved five football teams from five different universities in Central Java and Yogyakarta, including Diponegoro University, Gadjah Mada University, Ahmad Dahlan University, Yogyakarta Technology University, and Jenderal Soedirman University.
