Scientometrics Discussion Held for Finding Research Topics for Researchers in the UNDIP Library Webinar

UPT Library and Undip Press held a webinar with the theme “Scientometrics for Finding Research Topics for Researchers, Lecturers and Students” with invited speaker Prof. Dr. Adian Fatchur Rochim, S.T., M.T., one of the Faculty of Engineering lecturers. The event was held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023, via Zoom meeting. This webinar is a routine activity aimed at developing and facilitating academics in conducting academic research in Indonesia. The Diponegoro University community and several other universities in Indonesia, including UIN Mataram, Poltekkes Padang, UNS, UMS, UTY, Unsrat, Unisbank, UIN WS, Polinela, Untar, UMK, Unisnu, ITB, UGM, UIN Ar-Rany, Aceh, and Unidar Ambon attended this webinar.

The webinar opened with remarks from the Head of UPT Library and Undip Press, Suwondo, S.Hum., M.Kom. In his speech, he said, “The Diponegoro University Library is trying to develop both physical and non-physical facilities. In 2022, Undip Library will add book collections, renovate rooms, create digital infrastructure and discussion forums like this webinar to contribute to improving the quality of Diponegoro University academics,” he said to the 400 webinar participants.

Prof. Dr. Adian Fatchur Rochim, S.T., M.T., as a resource person in Webinar#9 Scientometrics for Searching for Research Topics for Researchers, Lecturers and Students explained five materials, including article productivity in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, white hat and black hat, a timeline of doctoral research journey, search needs research topics, and characteristics of promising research topics. In his presentation, Prof. Dr. Adian Fatchur Rochim, S.T., M.T., emphasized, “In conducting research, the most important thing is to read lots of references, do tabulations, and pay attention to inspiration from Almighty God in the form of ideas that emerge after reading and then taking notes.”

The webinar went well, as seen from the enthusiasm of the participants, who asked many questions about the themes discussed. The next webinar will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023, and Tuesday, October 24, 2023, via the Zoom meeting channel. (Boby, Wigas, As – Public Relations)
