Establishing World Class University, Study Programs at FISIP and FIB UNDIP Apply for FIBAA International Accreditation

Diponegoro University (Undip) continues to establish itself as one of the internationally recognized universities by targeting international accreditation for several study programs in faculties and schools. To support this, Undip held an Accreditation Visitation from the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) on September 13-14, 2023, at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) and the Faculty of Humanities (FIB).

The event was also attended by the Undip Rector, Vice Rectors, Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, Deputy Deans of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and the Faculty of Humanities, all leaders within Undip, and the Assessment Team from FIBAA. The study programs submitted for FIBAA international accreditation, this time, come from FISIP and FIB. These study programs include Bachelor of Governance Science, Bachelor of Public Administration, Master of Public Administration, Master of Political Science, Bachelor of English Literature, Master of Linguistics, and Master of History.

In his speech, Undip Rector, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum. revealed that international accreditation is essential for Undip because a university needs international recognition to improve its quality, not only in the academic but also in non-academic fields. Currently, the number of study programs at Undip is 170 study programs, of which 107 study programs are accredited A, and there are 24 study programs internationally accredited by FIBAA, ASIIN, and others.

“We have established many international collaborations with universities, NGOs, industry and the business world abroad. “The overall aim of this collaboration is to improve the academic and non-academic quality of students, including practical experience,” said Prof. Yos.

There are several international activities that Undip has carried out, such as Summer Courses, Seminars, International Academic Publications, International Undergraduate Programs, Student Exchanges, and scholarships for international students, especially from developing countries. “In student activities, we have succeeded in bringing many international achievements, both in sports tournaments, robotics tournaments and other international achievements,” he added.

Apart from that, to realize Undip’s vision of becoming an Excellent Research University, Undip is currently in the process of developing several laboratories, including the Marine Science Techno Park (MSTP) in Teluk Awur Jepara, and several laboratories have also been nationally accredited. “On the other hand, as our commitment to disability programs and environmental care, buildings and services at Undip are designed for those who need them,” said Prof. Yos.

“Thank you, and we express our deepest appreciation to the entire FIBAA Assessment team for giving us the opportunity to apply for study program accreditation. We hope that the results of FIBAA International Accreditation can strengthen partnerships not only between FIBAA and Undip but also between Indonesia and European countries. We also hope that FIBAA accreditation can increase the value and quality of Diponegoro University at the international level,” concluded Prof. Yos.
