Aldo Setiawan Wibowo successfully passed the fully funded delegation at the International Youth Exchange and Conference (IYEC) Chapter #5 program organized by Indonesian Youth Action with the theme “Unlock Your Limit.” IYEC Chapter #5 is an exchange program to contribute and support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). This event last for 6 days, 28 November – 3 December 2023.
To become a Fully Funded delegate, Aldo must take part in a series of selections in the form of document selection, interviews and focus group discussions. The IYEC #5 event consisted of a presentation of SDGs ideas, a campus tour, a visit to the Indonesian Embassy, a city tour, and a joint session about studying abroad. When visiting Singapore, the delegation team was shown the advanced and diverse infrastructure that exists there. Apart from that, Aldo and other delegation teams saw one of the Indonesian schools called the Singapore Indonesian School (SIS). While at the Singapore Indonesian School (SIS), he met teachers, staff and students and gained knowledge about the curriculum and activities there.
After that, Aldo and his team visited Malaysia, where he attended the SDGs project conference at APPGM-SDG and made a diplomatic visit to the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia. Lastly, Aldo visited Thailand and visited Sangkhom Islam Wittaya School for a cultural exchange. At the end of the activity, Aldo received a nomination as a Global Awareness delegate. This nomination is given by the committee to delegates who have extensive knowledge of world problems and SDGs.
“My hope after participating in this activity is that I can encourage students to be active in activities on campus and outside campus. There are many opportunities that students can take advantage of, especially with advances in technology. I also hope that through this achievement, I can become an even better person and continue to strive to obtain other achievements,” said Aldo.
