IISMA 2024 Kick-Off: Are You All Ready, Students?

A golden opportunity is once again wide open for Diponegoro University (Undip) students with the holding of the 2024 Indonesian International Study Mobility Awards (IISMA). This socialization event was held on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, by presenting the Chair of the IISMA Kemdikbudristek Working Group, Dr. Eng. Rachmat Sriwijaya, S.T., M.T., who was guided directly by the Head of the Office of International Affairs (KUI) Undip, Anggun Puspitarini Siswanto, Ph.D. and attended by more than 200 participants.

In the presentation session by the speaker, it was revealed that this year, IISMA will offer three selection pathways, including the regular pathway, co-funding pathway, and affirmation pathway. The regular pathway and affirmation pathway are full scholarship schemes for which registration will be open from January 23 to February 16, 2024. Meanwhile, registration for the co-funding pathway will open after the regular and affirmation pathways. The co-funding pathway is a partial scholarship scheme between students and the Ministry of Education and Culture.

Seeing that IISMA applicants are increasing every year, the Ministry of Education and Culture is also expanding the number of awardee quotas by targeting 3,000 to 3,300 students to go abroad. In line with this, the number of host universities this year also increased. There will be around 140 to 150 well-known universities that are partners of the IISMA program. The host universities are spread across various parts of the world, from America, Canada, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Europe, England, and Ireland.

The essential thinking of IISMA carries 3 principles, namely internationalization, industry 4.0, and independent learning. Apart from that, it was also conveyed that there are 10 competencies expected from awardees. Regarding scholarship coverage and general conditions, it is similar to the previous year. One of the requirements to take part in the IISMA 2024 program is that you have never participated in the MBKM program more than once and have never carried out mobility abroad before, either through exchange/summer-winter program/double degree/credit mobility activities while studying.

Through this webinar, it is hoped that Undip students can understand in depth the IISMA 2024 program and prepare themselves to take part in the entire selection series. Undip, with a vision to become a world-class university, continues to be committed to providing broader opportunities for its students to develop their potential and contribute on a global scale.
