The World Class University activity: Visiting Professor, held from August 9-16, 2023, at UNDIP, proved to be highly beneficial for the continuation of cooperation between UNDIP and TU Dresden. Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Michael Kaliske, as Chair of the Institut für Statik und Dynamik der Tragwerke (Institute for Structural Analysis), gave Undip the opportunity to enroll his students in further studies at TU Dresden.
One of the students selected for this opportunity is Rydell Riko, S.T., M.T., who will pursue a Doctoral Degree at TU Dresden with a research focus titled ‘Enhancement of Fatigue Resistance of Strain-Hardening Cement-Based Composites using Experimental-Virtual Multiscale Material Design.’ The German Research Foundation funds this research project and is under the supervision of Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Michael Kaliske.
Rydell Riko, S.T., M.T., graduated with a perfect GPA in March 2023 from the Master’s program in Civil Engineering at UNDIP, where he also served as a teaching assistant and participated in various research projects. The knowledge and experience gained during his Master’s studies will be further developed and deepened through his Doctoral studies and research in Germany under the guidance of Prof. Dr.-Ing. habil. Michael Kaliske.
Rydell Riko, S.T., M.T., is not the first UNDIP student to pursue advanced studies at TU Dresden. This achievement was previously initiated by Dr.-Ing. Bobby Rio Indriyantho, S.T., M.T., an alumnus of UNDIP’s fast track Master’s program in Civil Engineering, is a faculty member in the Department of Civil Engineering at UNDIP. More UNDIP students and alumni will likely follow suit through various future cooperation programs.
