Advanced! RSND Undip Acquires 1.5 Tesla MRI

Diponegoro National Hospital (RSND) has received assistance from the Ministry of Health through a 1.5 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) machine. The arrival of this equipment is in line with RSND’s ongoing efforts to improve services, research, and the development of medical professionals at RSND Undip. The availability of this advanced equipment makes RSND Undip a referral center for catastrophic diseases such as heart disease, kidney disease, cancer, and stroke. The advanced 1.5 Tesla MRI equipment was introduced at a celebration event held at the Radiology Installation of RSND Undip on Tuesday (20/2).

In his remarks, Diponegoro University Rector Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, SH., M.Hum., affirmed that Undip will continue improving the quality of RSND services to become the best in Indonesia and Southeast Asia. “With this equipment, the quality of healthcare services at RSND will certainly increase. Undip will continue to improve the quality of RSND as part of the hospital and support the quality of education and the improvement of facilities at the Faculty of Medicine Undip. Our target is no longer just the best in Indonesia but to excel in Asia or ASEAN,” said Prof. Yos.

President Director of RSND Undip, Dr. dr. Sutopo Patria Jati, M.M., M.Kes., explained that as the leading educational hospital, RSND is focused on service and education. “As the main educational hospital, we are focused on service and education, which includes research and development as important elements. The presence of this MRI equipment will greatly support performance that supports research and development,” he explained.

Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Diponegoro University, Dr. dr. Yan Wisnu Prajoko, M.Kes., Sp.B.Subsp.-onk(K), expressed gratitude for the presence of this MRI machine. He hopes that with the availability of advanced equipment at RSND Undip, it can be used optimally. “With advanced equipment, it supports the achievements of outstanding Faculty of Medicine Undip graduates. Undip graduates have more capabilities in terms of diagnosis and treatment, as well as the ability to interpret, recognize, use, and utilize these advanced tools compared to graduates of other universities,” he explained.

The 1.5 Tesla MRI machine owned by RSND Undip is equipped with advanced software, making it optimal for use, especially for patients with cancer, heart disease, stroke, and urology. RSND Undip is also equipped with competent human resources to operate this advanced equipment. With this MRI machine, RSND Undip becomes an alternative for disease diagnosis amid the community’s many needs.
