The Specificity of the Month of Ramadan Becomes a Topic in the Joint Tarawih at the FPIK UNDIP

The month of Ramadan is a sacred month full of blessings, mercy, honor, and forgiveness. In addition to the command to fasting, the blessings of Ramadan are also related to religious activities such as Tarawih prayers, reading the Qur’an, giving charity, and performing other acts of goodness.

The Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) at Diponegoro University hosted the Joint Tarawih (Tarawih Keliling/Tarling) in Ramadan 1445 H for the academic community and the extended family of UNDIP (Tuesday, 26/3). The committee invited the Chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama Branch Management (PCNU) of Semarang City, Drs. K.H. Anasom, M.Hum., as the speaker with the topic “The Specialties of the Month of Ramadan.” The Joint Tarawih was held at the Auditorium of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences Building at UNDIP.

The tarawih prayer activity, led by the UNDIP Vice Rector for Research and Innovation, Prof. Dr. Ir. Ambariyanto, M.Sc., expressed appreciation for the presence of the guests and the congregation of the tarawih prayer and apologized on behalf of the Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences UNDIP, Prof. Ir. Tri Winarni Agustini, M.Sc., Ph.D. if there were any shortcomings in the implementation of the event.

“Hopefully, tonight’s tarawih prayer would be very memorable even though it was pouring rain. Thanks to the committee for preparing everything for the Joint Tarawih event,” said Prof. Ambar at the end of his remarks after the witr prayer.

During the preaching, Drs. K.H. Anasom, M.Hum. mentioned that the Prophet Muhammad (Rasulullah Sallallahu Alaihi Wassalam) fulfilled the obligation of fasting in the month of Ramadan nine times, which includes fasting for 30 days three times and fasting for 29 days six times. This month of Ramadan is extraordinary throughout its days.

The Prophet Muhammad said that five specialties of the month of Ramadan were given to his followers and were never given to the prophets before him. The blessings are not only from the perspective of the specialty of the days but also the blessings within the month of Ramadan. Firstly, at the beginning of Ramadan, Allah sees His servants busy fasting and doing various activities. Those who worship in the month of fasting are seen and observed by Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, so they are rewarded without punishment. Secondly, the mouth odor of those fasting is as sweet as musk before Allah.

“The third specialty is that the angels pray for us by asking for forgiveness for all those who fast in the month of Ramadan. Fourthly, Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala commands the guardians of paradise for those who fast. Fifthly, at the end of Ramadan, we all receive forgiveness from Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala,” said Anasom at the end of the preaching. (DHW/Public Relations)
