Great! Rofik Wahyu, UNDIP Student Be the Champion of Pilmapres Central Java Level Developing 7 IPRs

With its vision to become a leading and internationally recognized vocational education center, there is no doubt that the Diponegoro University Vocational School (SV UNDIP) has achieved various outstanding accomplishments in research and innovation from its students, lecturers, and alumni. One of the notable achievements is by Rofik Wahyu Hidayat, a 2021 student of the Industrial Chemical Engineering Technology (TRKI) program, who was admitted to UNDIP through the Independent Examination (UM) pathway. Rofik achieved remarkable success by winning first place in the 2024 Selection of Outstanding Vocational Students (Pilmapres) at the LLDIKTI Region 6 Central Java level. He is now awaiting the results of the national-level Pilmapres selection.

One of the evaluation aspects in the Pilmapres achievement is Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). Rofik has obtained seven IPRs, including:

Rofik stated that his achievements are the result of dedication and hard work in academics, as well as active involvement in various activities and organizations. “This competition evaluates students based on academic achievements, communication skills, innovation in research projects, and contributions to social and student activities,” said Rofik.

He added that his success motivates him to continue working and making positive contributions to society and the environment.

Previously, Rofik was selected as one of the UNDIP students to receive the Japanese Government Scholarship to participate in the 2023 Sakura Science Program at the National Institute of Technology, Akashi College, Japan, from September 13-22, 2023. Additionally, Rofik also secured funding for the P2MD (Program Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Desa) / Village Community Empowerment Program together with the 2023 P2MD FKMI SV Team with a service proposal titled: “Biomass Briquette Production as a Solution to Rice Straw Waste and NFT Hydroponic Installation to Increase the Productivity of Brumbung Village Community,” and secured funding for the PKM – GFT (Program Kreativitas Mahasiswa – Gagasan Futuristik Tertulis) / Student Creativity Program – Written Futuristic Ideas with the PKM TRKI UNDIP Team with a proposal titled: “Integrated Smart Future Indoor Farming System: AI Integrated Farming System Innovation to Support Society 5.0 Era in Indonesia.”

“Overall, every competition not only enhances academic and professional competencies but also shapes a more resilient and adaptive character. These achievements drive us to keep developing ourselves and contributing more significantly in the field of industrial chemical engineering technology,” said Rofik.

According to Rofik, education is not just about gaining knowledge but also about developing critical thinking and problem-solving skills and building a solid character. “Through education, we open doors to various opportunities and develop our potential to the fullest. Education is a solid foundation for achieving dreams and facing future challenges with confidence,” he explained.

Besides formal education, being involved in organizations also plays a crucial role. “Being involved in organizations teaches us to work in teams, hone leadership skills, and develop a broad social network. Organizational experience teaches responsibility, discipline, and effective time management,” added Rofik.

“All these skills are invaluable and will be very useful in career and personal life. The combination of strong education and organizational experience will make us more prepared to face a constantly changing world.” “Education is not preparation for life; education is life itself,” quoting John Dewey, Rofik concluded.
