Exciting Carnival and Chant Competitions Enliven UNDIP’s 67th Anniversary Celebration

UNDIP, Semarang (15/10) – The peak celebration of Universitas Diponegoro’s 67th Anniversary was marked with a vibrant Carnival and Chant Competitions along the route from Dipo Hub to the Widya Puraya field, ending at Prof. Soedarto, S.H. Building, UNDIP Tembalang campus. These events enhanced the festive atmosphere of the Anniversary, which centered on “Poverty Alleviation and Food Security.”

This was the first time UNDIP held such a carnival and chant competitions as part of its anniversary celebration. The event featured captivating performances by 15 teams representing 11 faculties, 2 schools, the Central Office (Rectorate, Institutions, Bureaus, and PSDKU), and Diponegoro National Hospital (RSND), along with student organizations. Each team showcased their skills with performances reflecting Universitas Diponegoro’s central theme.

The event was inaugurated by UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., who arrived in a horse-drawn carriage, followed by UNDIP Vice Rectors, Deans of Faculty and School, Directors, and Heads of Bureau, accompanied by the UNDIP marching band to mark the official opening of the carnival and chant competitions.

Prof. Suharnomo expressed appreciation and gratitude to all contributors who made the 67th Anniversary carnival and cheerleading events successful. “Next year, I hope we can celebrate with an even more exciting and creative design to show our love for Universitas Diponegoro,” he said, symbolically opening the carnival by raising a flag.

Each team consisted of 50 to 100 representatives from staff, faculty, students, and student organizations (BEM, Student Senate, Associations, and more), competing in creativity, excellence, and uniqueness, which show UNDIP’s identity. They showcased solidarity by wearing traditional attire, using props, musical instruments, and costumes aligned with the theme “Poverty Alleviation and Food Security,” by the obligation to use recycled materials.

The performances began with the Faculty of Medicine (FK), followed by the Faculty of Science and Mathematics (FSM), Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Faculty of Psychology, Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences (FPP), Central Office (Institutions, Bureaus, PSDKU), Vocational School (SV), Postgraduate School, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Faculty of Humanities (FIB), Faculty of Engineering (FT), Diponegoro National Hospital (RSND), Faculty of Law (FH), Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK), and the Faculty of Public Health (FKM) as the final participant.

The winners for the chant competition category were announced as follows: first place went to the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences (FPP), second place went to the Faculty of Engineering (FT), and third place went to the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science (FPIK). In the carnival competition category, first place was awarded to the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences (FPP), followed by the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) in second place, and the Faculty of Engineering (FT) in third place.
