PSM Satya Dharma Gita from the Faculty of Law UNDIP Wins 3rd Soegijapranata International Choir Competition 2024

Another proud achievement has been earned by students of Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP). This time, the accomplishment comes from the Satya Dharma Gita Student Choir from the Faculty of Law, which secured victory in the 3rd Soegijapranata International Choir Competition 2024 held at Soegijapranata Catholic University from November 14–17, 2024.

In the competition, Satya Dharma Gita Student Choir was awarded the Grand Prix Winner of the 3rd Soegijapranata International Choir Competition 2024 and secured 1st Rank (Category Winner) in the Equal Voices Category with a Gold B Medal and a final score of 84.15.

Vanesha Mutiara Sehati Simanjuntak, the leader of the Satya Dharma Gita Student Choir, expressed her gratitude and happiness for the team’s achievement. “All the achievements and championships we have earned are undoubtedly a source of pride for the Faculty of Law and our alma mater, Universitas Diponegoro,” she stated.

Under the guidance of Kadek Cahya Susila Wibawa, S.H., M.H., Tity Wahju Setiawati, S.H., M.Hum., and conductor FX Anggarda Tri Adhi Nugraha, Satya Dharma Gita Student Choir achieved this remarkable success through thorough preparation.

“Preparation is, of course, crucial. First, we conducted regular practices four times a week. Second, we studied vocal techniques and sound arrangements for each song to achieve harmony. Third, we focused on synchronizing voices and rhythm among choir members. Additionally, we prepared costumes and aesthetics and performed stage simulation to adapt to the performance atmosphere,” explained Vanesha.

For this competition, the Satya Dharma Gita Student Choir sent 32 members, including:

After participating in the 3rd Soegijapranata International Choir Competition 2024, Satya Dharma Gita plans to compete in other international events. “In the near future, according to our agenda, we will join more international choir competitions,” said Vanesha.

Previously, Satya Dharma Gita Student Choir had achieved various accolades, including:

– Winner of the Equal Voice Adult Choir Category (Gold Medal) and Folklore Choir Category (Gold Medal), and Grand Prize Finalist at the 1st Thailand International Choral Festival 2024 in Bangkok.

– Winner of the Female Choir Category (Gold Medal) and Grand Champion Finalist at the 12th Bali International Choir Festival 2023, among others.

As a student and representative of UNDIP’s young generation, Vanesha encouraged others never to hesitate to strive and dream big, both academically and non-academically, as every step is a valuable investment for the future.

“Stay optimistic and believe in your abilities. Showcase your talents and achieve success because success is not only determined by talent but also by hard work, perseverance, and the spirit of continuous learning. Keep pursuing achievements, don’t be afraid to innovate, and always maintain a fighting spirit,” Vanesha concluded.
