Semarang, December 6, 2024 – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) continues to demonstrate its commitment to fostering a productive work environment that supports the balance between work and health for its entire academic community. UNDIP held a “Joint Exercise with Leaders” event alongside the launch of a Mental Health Screening Application for employees on Friday morning at the Faculty of Psychology building courtyard, UNDIP Tembalang Campus.
This mental health screening application, aimed at the early detection of various mental health issues, is a digital innovation developed collaboratively by the Faculty of Psychology UNDIP, the Occupational Health and Safety Unit (UPT K3L), and the Electrical Engineering Study Program of the Faculty of Engineering.
On this occasion, the Rector of Universitas Diponegoro, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., expressed his appreciation for the work of UPT K3L, which he described as one of the most active units supporting UNDIP’s vision of becoming a dignified and beneficial institution, likewise the tagline “UNDIP Bermartabat, UNDIP Bermanfaat.”
At the same event, the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology UNDIP, Prof. Dian Ratna Sawitri, S.Psi., M.Si., Ph.D., thanked everyone who attended the Joint Exercise event.
“Following its inauguration by the UNDIP Rector, we hope this application will benefit lecturers, staff, and students at UNDIP,” said the Dean of Psychology.
Additionally, Bina Kurniawan, S.KM., M.Kes, Head of UPT K3L UNDIP, stated that the event reflects UNDIP’s identity as a healthy campus, noting that the university had previously initiated early detection of non-communicable diseases through Posbindu PTM in all faculties.
“We hope this mental health screening application will help create a healthy, spirited, and productive academic community. Early detection of mental health conditions is crucial because mental health, though invisible, can significantly impact well-being,” Bina explained.
For information, the mental health screening utilizes the Self Reporting Questionnaire (SRQ), a method developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and widely adopted in various countries, including UNDIP.
The joint exercise concluded with a student exhibition featuring projects from the 2024 UNDIP Thematic Community Service (Kuliah Kerja Nyata Tematik / KKN-T) team at the Integrated Waste Management Facility (Tempat Pengelolaan Sampah Terpadu / TPST). The exhibition theme was “Optimizing TPST UNDIP as an Educational Facility for Waste Management Based on Circular Economy and Zero Waste.” The event received enthusiastic participation and is expected to be the first step toward broader implementation of the mental health screening application within Universitas Diponegoro.
