UNDIP, Semarang (February 9) – The Regular Community Service Program (Kuliah Kerja Nyata / KKN) Team I of Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) for the 2024/2025 academic year successfully held an exhibition titled “Realizing SDGs Through Collaboration and Innovation.” The event aimed to showcase the village’s potential and present various creative, innovative, and dedicated works in the form of products and services. It took place at Taman Budaya Suryani Sukoharjo (TBSS) in Bangunsari, Gayam, Sukoharjo Regency, on Thursday, February 6, 2025.
The Community Service program is expected to enable students to contribute meaningfully to the local community and the Sukoharjo Regency government. A total of 401 UNDIP students, spread across 42 villages in four districts—Bendosari, Nguter, Tawangsari, and Polokarto—set up 42 exhibition booths showcasing their work programs, innovations, and flagship products.
Representing the Regent of Sukoharjo, RM. Suseno Wijayanto, S.H., M.H., Assistant for Economic Affairs and Development of Sukoharjo Regency, expressed appreciation for UNDIP students’ dedication to the community. “The Community Service program is a concrete form of synergy between universities and local governments in empowering communities to achieve sustainable development,” he stated.
Suseno also emphasized that students play a strategic role as change agents, critical thinkers, and innovators capable of addressing societal challenges. “The presence of UNDIP students in various areas of Sukoharjo Regency has had a positive impact on community welfare and development, especially in the fields of economy, education, environmental health, and technology,” he added.
Meanwhile, the Head of the UNDIP Community Service Center (P2KKN), Adnan Fauzi, S.T., M.Kom., highlighted that the KKN program serves as a learning platform for students to understand societal issues, including development challenges, and to become more socially aware.
“By engaging directly with communities, Community Service students can apply their knowledge and contribute to their respective regions,” Adnan stated.
He also noted that the exhibition could serve as a stepping stone for further collaboration with the Sukoharjo government. “Through this event, we hope to contribute to regional innovation competitions such as Krenova or the Innovation Government Award (IGA). Additionally, students’ works can be registered for Intellectual Property Rights through UNDIP,” he suggested.
The Head of Committee and student representative, Diandra Indira Kaylana, explained that the theme was chosen to encourage each village to highlight a work program aligned with one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). “Through this SDG-themed event, we aim to support sustainable development and advance the villages where we conducted our Community Service,” Diandra expressed.
