UNDIP, Semarang (February 21) – In preparation for the holy month of Ramadan 1446 H, the Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) of Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) organized the Tarhib Ramadan and the 281st Khotmil Qur’an event. The event took place on Friday, February 21, 2025, at the drg. Gunawan Wibisono Hall, Central Lab, Faculty of Medicine, UNDIP. The event featured a renowned national speaker, Ustadz Wijayanto.
This year’s Tarhib Ramadan carried the theme “Embracing the Meaning of Ramadan to Strengthen Faith,” combined with the 281st Khotmil Qur’an recitation. The event aimed to raise awareness among Muslims about the importance of preparing for fasting and enhancing the quality of their faith.
In addition to a religious lecture (tausiyah) by Ustadz Wijayanto, the event also included a charity program for orphans and TPQ (Qur’anic Learning Center) teachers in the Tembalang area. This donation drive is scheduled to take place during DWP UNDIP’s routine Islamic study gathering at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) on March 7, 2025.
As the host of the event, the Director of RSND (Diponegoro National Hospital), Dr. Agus Setiyo Hadipurwanto, M.Kes., welcomed the initiative. He highlighted RSND’s progress over its nine years of operation, emphasizing its excellence in specialist and sub-specialist medical services. “RSND has gained a national reputation, supported by expert doctors and advanced medical equipment. Hopefully, this event will bring blessings to RSND, reinforcing its role as a leading hospital for patient care and medical education at the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP,” he stated.
DWP UNDIP Chairperson Dewi Widayani Suharnomo expressed gratitude to Ustadz Wijayanto for his willingness to deliver the tausiyah. She echoed the message that holding Tarhib Ramadan and Khotmil Qur’an at RSND would bring blessings. “Hospitals play a vital role in serving and healing people, making them a source of immense blessings,” Dewi said. She also extended her appreciation to the Chairperson of DWP RSND, Siti Chirana Agus Setiyo, and her team for organizing the event successfully.
During his lecture, Ustadz Wijayanto emphasized the significance of Friday as the holiest day of the week and Ramadan as the most sacred month. He urged everyone to prepare for Ramadan with deeds that bring blessings. “Currently, we are in the month of Sha’ban, which holds several significant events that serve as a prelude to Ramadan,” he explained.
He highlighted four key events in Sha’ban. The first was the revelation of the verse commanding Salawat (prayers upon the Prophet). Second, the qibla (prayer direction) was changed from Baitul Maqdis (Jerusalem) to the Kaaba (Makkah). Third, the month when deeds are presented to Allah, with Prophet Muhammad preferring to be in a state of fasting when this occurs. Fourth, Sha’ban is the month of the Qur’an, urging increased recitation of the holy Qur’an in preparation for Ramadan. Although the Qur’an is required to be read at all times, there are times when it is more important to read, such as in the months of Ramadan and Shaban.
Leading up from Shaban to Ramadan, he encouraged increasing Salawat, performing both obligatory and voluntary prayers, reading the Qur’an, and engaging in acts of charity and zakat.
Through Tarhib Ramadan, the event aimed to inspire Muslims to welcome the holy month with purified hearts, a spirit of generosity, and strengthened faith, ultimately achieving spiritual success. (Ut-Media Relations)
