Enhancing English Proficiency, UNDIP Library Holds Tuesday English Class

The UNDIP Library and UNDIP Press organized a Tuesday English Class with the theme “Role Play: HR and Job Seeker Experience” on Tuesday (February 11, 2025) in the Meeting Room, 4th Floor, UPT Perpustakaan and UNDIP Press. The Tuesday English Class is a regular program held by the Library of Universitas Diponegoro and aims to enhance the English language skills of the UNDIP academic community. This activity includes Focus Group Discussions, presentations, and other activities related to the English language.

Sherly Silvia Nugroho, S.Hum., the speaker for the session, explained that discussing human resources and job seeker experiences provides a space for a deeper understanding of how to be both a good candidate and interviewer.

“This activity allows us to practice being HR professionals and job seekers. We learn how to face job interviews and create an impressive CV. Students attending the Tuesday English Class gain valuable insights, experiences, communication skills, and confidence in the professional world,” said Sherly.

Participants showed great enthusiasm and actively engaged in the discussion. One of the attendees, Attaf Riski Putra Ramadhan, a student from the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, shared that the Tuesday English Class not only helps improve English communication skills but also provides opportunities to practice them.

“This class is amazing and really helps sharpen our English skills. In Indonesia, job interviews are rarely conducted in English, but in Tuesday English Class, we get hands-on practice using English,” he said.

The Head of UNDIP Library and UNDIP Press, Suwondo, S.Hum., M.Kom., expressed hope that the Tuesday English Class would continue to improve student’s English proficiency, opening up more significant opportunities in the international arena.
