UNDIP, Semarang (February 28, 2025) – Muhammad Rachel Farchan Ardany, a graduate of the Oceanography Program at the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), has completed his studies with an impressive GPA of 3.91 in just 3 years and 4 months. Entering UNDIP through the SNMPTN/SNBP pathway in 2021, Rachel has not only excelled academically but has also been actively involved in various organizations, leadership roles, and professional activities.
Reflecting on his graduation, Rachel emphasized the importance of balancing academics with organizational experience.
“Education is not just about attending lectures; it must be applied through organizational involvement as a platform for self-development. As the next generation carrying the torch of civilization, we must be brave enough to step into the arena of life, dream big, and take real action,” he stated.
From the beginning of his university journey, Rachel demonstrated a high commitment to leadership and organizational activities, including serving as:
- Vice Director of Surveyor of Ocean Area (SONAR UNDIP)
- Head of Training and Development at Community of Ocean Modelling (COMED UNDIP)
- Various strategic roles at the faculty and university levels
Rachel has also honed his public speaking skills, taking on roles as a Master of Ceremony (MC) and Speaker at national and international forums, including:
- Launching of Diponegoro Solar Boat 2024
- Future Leader Summit 2023
- International Students Leader Meeting 2023
- International Symposium on Environment and Chemical Engineering 2024
His dedication to academics and social initiatives has earned him numerous prestigious honors, including:

Beyond his academic and organizational engagements, Rachel has enriched his professional experience through internships at leading institutions, including PT Indotama Mahesa Karya, Semarang Navigation District, BRIN Ancol, and Antusias Semarang. Currently, Rachel is undergoing an internship in the HSSE (Health, Safety, Security & Environment) sector while actively seeking opportunities at Perusahaan Gas Negara (PT PGN LNG Indonesia).
As a graduate of UNDIP’s 177th Graduation Ceremony, Rachel expressed his pride in UNDIP’s progress toward the top 500 universities worldwide. He emphasized that this achievement must be accompanied by advancements in research quality, global collaborations, and curriculum relevance to industry needs, ensuring UNDIP graduates remain highly competitive on the international stage.
