UNDIP Gets Stronger in QS WUR 2025! Medicine Subject Enters the Rank and Law Subject Rises

UNDIP, Semarang (March 15) – In 2025, Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) has further strengthened its position in the QS World University Rankings (QS WUR) by Subject. This year, six subjects at UNDIP have been ranked, an increase from five in 2024.

In the 2024 QS WUR by Subject, UNDIP was ranked in five study fields. However, in 2025, the Medicine subject entered the global ranking for the first time. Additionally, the Law & Legal Studies subject ranking improved from 351-370 in 2024 to 301-350 in 2025.

UNDIP’s proud achievements in QS WUR by Subject 2025, which were reported on the page https://www.topuniversities.com/universities/diponegoro-university, include the following fields of study:

  1. Law & Legal Studies – Global rank 301-350
  2. Agriculture & Forestry – Global rank 351-400
  3. Business & Management Studies – Global rank 451-500
  4. Social Sciences & Management – Global rank 501-550
  5. Economics & Econometrics – Global rank 501-550
  6. Medicine – Global rank 701-850

UNDIP Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., expressed his appreciation for the university’s achievement in the QS WUR by Subject 2025 rankings. “We appreciate the hard work of the entire academic community for this outstanding achievement. We are proud to see the Medicine subject enters the rankings and the improvement in Law and Legal Studies’ ranking. “This success is the result of dedication across all university sectors in enhancing education, research, and community service. We will continue to work towards achieving UNDIP’s goal of entering the world’s top 500 universities,” he stated.

UNDIP Vice Rector IV, Wijayanto, Ph.D., emphasized, “This achievement shows that UNDIP is increasingly competitive in the global arena with six fields of study included in the QS WUR by Subject 2025. This achievement is the result of our commitment to improving academic reputation, strengthening international networks, and developing high-quality research. We thank the entire academic community for their contribution and are optimistic that UNDIP will continue to achieve higher achievements towards a world-class university.”

Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadiyanto, S.T., M.Sc., IPU, Director of Reputation, Partnership, and Global Connectivity, explained that the QS WUR by Subject rankings is based on five key indicators: academic reputation, employer reputation, citation impact, H-index, and International Research Network (IRN), with varying weightings across different subjects.

The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. dr. Yan Wisnu Prajoko, M.Kes., expressed his gratitude for the faculty’s inclusion in the QS WUR by Subject rankings. “Insya Allah, this news will ignite the spirit of the entire academic community of the Faculty of Medicine UNDIP to achieve more and excel. We will continue the struggle to enter the world’s top 500. This great and hard work requires close collaboration between all components in the Faculty of Medicine and UNDIP. The Dean of the Faculty of Law, Prof. Dr. Retno Saraswati, S.H., M.Hum., also expressed gratitude, whose ranking increased from 351 to 301. “Of course, this is the result of hard work and the struggle of the academic community always to meet the criteria for the QS WUR ranking. Internationalization plays a major role in improving this ranking in addition to strengthening articles in reputable journals and their citations. We want to express our gratitude to the leaders, lecturers, education staff, students, alumni, and foreign university partners,” she added.

The QS WUR ranking is currently one of the rankings that is a barometer of higher education throughout the world. UNDIP’s achievement is something to be proud of and a good sign for UNDIP, which has a target ranking of 500 in QS WUR. (Titis, Ed. Nurul)
