UNDIP, Semarang (April 24) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) has officially established a partnership with PT. St. Morita Farma, concerning the development of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education. This collaboration reflects UNDIP’s commitment to producing research outcomes that provide tangible benefits to society.
The partnership was marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 4:00 PM in the Rector’s Meeting Room, Widya Puraya Building, UNDIP Tembalang Campus.
Present at the event were UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., and President Director of PT. St. Morita Farma, Drs. Maruap Siahaan, MBA. The signing was witnessed by the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Mathematics, Prof. Dr. Kusworo Adi, S.Si., M.T., along with the leadership team from PT. St. Morita Farma.
In his remarks, the UNDIP Rector expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration between the two parties. Prof. Suharnomo stated that this collaboration is one of UNDIP’s efforts to bring innovative products developed by its researchers to life. “We always encourage partnerships with industry. Through this collaboration, we hope that findings from UNDIP’s top researchers can come to completion,” he stated.
The Rector also expressed hope that the partnership would yield mutual benefits and bring pride to the Indonesian nation. “Hopefully, this cooperation will continue and bring value—not only material benefits but also tangible contributions to Indonesia,” he added.
Echoing the Rector’s sentiments, the President Director of PT. St. Morita Farma, Drs. Maruap Siahaan, MBA., shared his hope that the partnership would produce superior products beneficial to the community and the country. “We hope this collaboration results in valuable products for the nation. Indonesia must have strong and competitive products. Now is the time for us to collaborate and create original Indonesian innovations,” he said.
On this occasion, PT. St. Morita Farma showcased one of the products resulting from collaboration with a UNDIP researcher: Euterria, a hair care product based on Liposome technology, discovered by Prof. Dr. Dra. Dwi Hudiyanti, M.Sc., a Professor in the field of Biophysical Chemistry, Faculty of Science and Mathematics at UNDIP.
The liposome in Euterria is made from phospholipid compounds extracted from coconut oil. This technology enables active ingredients to penetrate deeper into the skin or hair, resulting in more effective treatment. The product is also enriched with active ingredients such as ginkgo biloba, which is known to improve blood circulation, and candlenut, which has been proven to strengthen hair and maintain scalp health. Moreover, these ingredients are safe and environmentally friendly.
Through this partnership, it is expected that more research and innovations from UNDIP researchers will be adopted by industry, resulting in high-value products that contribute not only to national economic development but also deliver tangible benefits to society. (Hng–Public Relations)
