Socialization of the PMW 2025 (Student Entrepreneurship Program): UNDIP’s Commitment to Producing Independent Graduates in the Business World

UNDIP, Semarang (February 28) – Universitas Diponegoro, through the Directorate of Student Affairs and Alumni, held a Socialization Event for the 2025 Student Entrepreneur Program (Program Mahasiswa Wirausaha / PMW) on Friday, February 28, 2025. The event took place in the Main Hall of Prof. Soedarto, SH Building, at UNDIP Tembalang Campus.

The Student Entrepreneur Program (PMW) is an initiative by UNDIP aimed at equipping students with entrepreneurial skills to establish sustainable independent businesses. This socialization provided students with information on program mechanisms and registration requirements, as well as various funding and business mentoring opportunities.

UNDIP’s Vice-Rector for Academic and Student Affairs, Prof.rer.nat. Heru Susanto, S.T., M.M., M.T., delivered opening remarks and officially inaugurated the event. In his speech, Prof. Heru emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship for students as preparation for the workforce and encouraged them to participate actively in the program.

Developing an entrepreneurial spirit among students through PMW is expected to be a golden opportunity for them to nurture business ideas early on while also preparing graduates who are not only job-ready but also capable of creating job opportunities,” said Prof. Heru.

“UNDIP is committed to supporting the emergence of innovative and competitive young entrepreneurs by facilitating students through PMW, which provides insights and knowledge about prospective programs,” he added.

University leaders, entrepreneurship mentoring lecturers, and students from various faculties at UNDIP attended the event. It featured competent speakers, including Anis Qomariah, S.A.B., M.Ling., a lecturer from the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UNDIP, who presented a session on “Proposal Writing Systematics for PMW 2025.”

Additionally, Wildan Avian Pratama, S.A.B., M.A.B., a lecturer of FISIP UNDIP, provided insights into business strategies for students with a presentation titled “Strategy and Implementation of the PMW Program.” The discussion session was moderated by Dito Aryo Prabowo, S.Psi., M.Psi., a lecturer from the Faculty of Psychology UNDIP.

During her presentation on the PMW 2025 guideline book, Anis Qomariah stated that the program requires participants to draft structured business proposals to support student entrepreneurship development. The proposals must include key aspects such as business background, market analysis, marketing strategy, and financial planning.

“By following the established guidelines, students are expected to create well-prepared business plans eligible for funding. The systematic proposal writing for PMW 2025 ensures that every aspect of the business is clearly outlined and measurable. Key points in proposal preparation include a business description, management strategy, and realistic financial projections,” she explained.

“Through this program, students not only receive financial support but also mentorship to develop their businesses sustainably. Hence, PMW 2025 serves as an essential platform to foster an entrepreneurial mindset among students,” Anis added.

Meanwhile, Wildan Avian continued with a session focusing on understanding and applying the Business Model Canvas (BMC) as a strategic framework for business development. Participants were guided to comprehend the importance of a clear business structure and how each element of the BMC—ranging from value proposition and customer segments to cost structure—plays a crucial role in business success. “Through case studies and business simulations, students gain in-depth insights into identifying business opportunities and designing the right strategies for sustainable business growth,” he stated.

With PMW, students are encouraged to develop business ideas that are not only innovative but also highly competitive in the market. “The program also provides training on financial management, marketing, and partnership strategies to support more effective business growth. By understanding and applying the Business Model Canvas, participants are expected to build well-structured businesses with promising prospects,” said Wildan.

Apart from the presentations, participants also engaged in a Q&A session, where they could consult on account registration and business category classification processes. This interactive session allowed students to gain deeper insights into procedures and opportunities available through the PMW program this year.

Through this socialization event, UNDIP aims to help students understand the PMW implementation mechanism and inspire them to develop innovative and sustainable business ideas. The Student Entrepreneur Program (PMW) reflects UNDIP’s commitment to producing independent and highly competitive graduates in the business world. (DHW)
