A total of 2,512 Diponegoro University (Undip) students joint-in Team I of 2018/2019 Community Service Program (CSP) who will do their services in 10 regencies of Central Java had deployment ceremony on Monday (07/01/2019) at Widya Puraya, Undip Campus in Tembalang, Semarang.
In his speech, Undip Rector Prof. Yos Johan Utama said that in carrying out CSP, students have to able to offer inspiration, kindness and example for the community in the CSP area. “You must be able to show the quality of service that really comes from one of the world class universities,” he said.
Furthermore, the Rector urged students joint-in CSP to prioritize their safety so that they will be careful in carrying out CSP activities and for maintaining Undip’s dignity.
The Rector said that students need to create good programs while they are conducting CSP activities. “Make good program, do activities that can provide added value for community at CSP area. Students should not only be able to provide products labeling and packaging, but you must offer a touch of technology,” he said.
Meanwhile the Chairperson of the Undip P2KKN Dr.Edy Prasetyo explained that CSP is a form of education by providing learning experiences to students to interact with communities outside the campus. “And students can directly identify problems and able to help local people to deal with their problems in developing CSP areas,” he said.
“Undip CSP for 2018/2019 Team I will be held for 42 days, deployed in 10 regencies namely Rembang, Jepara, Pati, Grobogan, Temanggung, Semarang, Kendal, Batang, Pekalongan, and Pemalang from 7 January to 20 February 2019 by involving 105 CSP Lecturers and 10 CSP Coordinating Lecturers,” he said.
