Prof. Sumarsono (Professor of FPP Undip) Passed Away

The Diponegoro University extended family mourned the death of Prof. Dr. Ir. Sumarsono, M.S., Professor of the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Diponegoro University, passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2022.

The last honors was given by Undip’s leaders and academic community at the Funeral Ceremony which was held on Sunday (3/19) at the SA MWA Building, Undip Tembalang. The body was buried in the cemetery of the Diponegoro University extended family, Undip Tembalang campus complex.

Undip Rector, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum. who acted as inspector of the Ceremony Ceremony in his speech expressed a very deep sorrow over the death of Prof. Dr. Ir. Sumarsono, M.S. “I represent Diponegoro University to convey condolences to the family and also we apologize if we did things that are less pleasing to the deceased and also to the family,” he said.

“Today we will together send off one of the best sons from Diponegoro University. The Great Undip with all ranking, both at international and national levels, of course, is supported by the existence of great professors, one of which is Prof. Dr. Ir. Sumarsono, M.S. We feel very lost,” added Prof. Yos.

Furthermore, Prof. Yos expressed his gratitude for all the dedication of Prof. Sumarsono as a lecturer. “Insyaallah, there are many useful things, such as the work, knowledge, and innovation that he has given,” he concluded.

Many dedication has been given by the deceased to the community, especially for the development of agrotechnology science. The focus of the research he once did was the science of feed and agricultural ecology.

The deceased was the husband of Dr. Ir. Wulan Sumekar, M.S., born in Yogyakarta on October 6, 1953, leaving 4 children and son in law and 8 grandchildren. (Dhany-Lin / Public Relations)
