Undip Food Technology Study Program Held the 2023 Summer Course

The Diponegoro University Food Technology Study Program held the 2023 Summer Course Program on September 14, 2023. The program entitled “Summer Course Program on Javanese Gastronomy 2023” was held for 9 days until September 22, 2023. Located in the Senate Meeting Room, Building F, 3rd Floor, at noon 13.00 WIB, the Deputy Dean II for Resources, Prof. Agus Setiadi, S.Pt., M.Si., Ph.D. and Head of the Food Technology Undergraduate Study Program Ahmad Ni’matullah Al-Baarri, S.Pt., M.P., Ph.D. officially opened this event.

This Summer Course was attended by 15 participants from the International Islamic University Malaysia and Kagawa University Japan. The focus of this event is to introduce various typical Javanese culinary delights and share experiences of their taste from the perspective of experts and scientists. Furthermore, this program will equip participants with a complete study of Javanese Cultural Practices, Javanese Culinary Overview, Creativity, and Future Challenges, as well as Culinary Portraits Related to Javanese Geography, both History and Movement. Participants from abroad are also expected to share their experiences about foreign traditions. This activity is planned to be held not only in Semarang but also in other cities around Semarang, with a tentative schedule adjusting the goals of this program.
