Diponegoro University, as a PTNBH, continues to drive the creation of technological inventions through research and strengthen collaboration in innovation as a simultaneous step in realizing the Independent Learning Independent Campus (MBKM). In support of this endeavor, UNDIP played a significant role in the success of the Research and Innovation Exhibition of Hakteknas 2023, organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology at the Southeast Plaza, Gelora Bung Karno, Jakarta, under the theme “Research and Innovation Talents for Indonesia’s Golden Era 2045,” held from August 11th to 13th, 2023.
During the opening ceremony, Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology Nadiem Makarim emphasized that the National Technology Awakening Day serves as an encouragement to continue developing the MBKM programs, enabling Indonesian youth to engage with society and make tangible contributions bravely.
Meanwhile, the Acting Director General of Higher Education of Diktiristek Kemendikbudristek, Nizam, noted that the 28th National Technology Awakening Day (Hakteknas) was an opportunity to drive research and innovation to enhance the nation’s competitiveness. He emphasized that Hakteknas serves as a reminder to develop research and innovation in response to new technologies consistently. He also visited UNDIP’s food and healthcare booths, providing feedback on UNDIP’s research outcomes. Also present at the UNDIP booth were Muhammad Adlin Sila (Special Staff to the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology for Institutional Relations and Community), Nur Syarifah (Special Staff to the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology for Regulation), and Kiki Yuliati (Director General of Vocational Education), who showed great enthusiasm for UNDIP’s outstanding innovation products in the fields of food and health.
The Hakteknas exhibition aimed to introduce university innovation outcomes more closely to the public. The innovation themes were divided into four sectors: Food, Health, Energy, and Electrical Vehicles. Over 145 university innovation products, tested and capable of addressing societal needs, were showcased at the event. These included 31 food products, 32 energy products, 59 health products, and 9 electrical vehicle products.
Nizam added that through the Matching Fund Kedaireka program, universities can collaborate with various partners in Indonesia to develop technology through their research outcomes. Additionally, researchers were reminded to collaborate and produce high-quality research products, focusing on five priority areas: building a green economy, a blue economy, a digital economy, health, pharmaceuticals, tourism, and a creative economy.
In his address, Director of Research, Technology, and Community Service, M. Faiz Syuaib, encouraged university stakeholders to conduct relevant research based on the potential of each campus, aiming to produce innovative products that meet societal needs.
Diponegoro University actively participated in the success of Hakteknas by showcasing food and healthcare products resulting from the Matching Fund Kedaireka program, including D’Biscu (healthy biscuits for pregnant women), Bishopper (High Protein Biscuits made from grasshopper flour), Imood (Healthy Gummy Candies), Asap Cair (Technology Innovation for fish smoking), Cokrimun (Chocolate with Carrageenan), and others. In the healthcare sector, UNDIP presented innovative products such as Bionic Hands, Finger Therapy Devices, Elbow Movement Devices, and others by Rifky Ismail and the CBIOM3S UNDIP team.
UNDIP, represented by the Director of Innovation and Industrial Cooperation, Dian Wahyu Harjanti, hopes this opportunity will create many opportunities for embracing new technological advancements. Therefore, UNDIP needs to be more responsive and capable of mastering these new technologies to stay ahead of the times and encourage researchers to conduct research relevant to UNDIP’s potential, ultimately producing innovative products that meet societal needs.
