Mutiara Tabitha Kamal successfully passed and won 2nd place in the Undergraduate category in the 2024 Outstanding Student Selection (Pilmapres) at Diponegoro University. Mutiara, an undergraduate student in the Chemical Engineering program at the Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University (UNDIP), is known for actively participating in various scientific writing, essay, paper, and poster competitions at both national and international levels.
It is no doubt that Mutiara truly deserves to be a winner. She already has a myriad of achievements, including First Winner of the International Paper and Poster Competition DERRICK Oil and Gas Intellectual Competition, PEM Akamigas Cepu, Blora 2023; Gold Award of Innovation Paper Competition at The 1st Indonesian Knowledge Management Summit, PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional 2023; Runner-Up Winner of the Scientific Paper Competition Indonesia Chemical Engineering Event, Brawijaya University, Malang 2023; Funding Awardee of PKM Riset Eksakta National Student Creativity Program; Gold Medal of the International Innovation Competition International Energy and Environment Innovation (INCOM), Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia 2023; First Winner of the International Paper and Poster Competition BOREYES International Energy Fair, Padjadjaran University, Bandung 2023; First Winner of the International Paper and Poster Competition Integrated Petroleum Festival Competition, Institute of Technology Bandung, Bandung 2023.
She was also the Second Runner-Up of the International Paper and Poster Competition Oil and Gas Intellectual Parade Competition, University of Pembangunan Nasional “Veteran”, Yogyakarta 2023; Best Presentation of the Chemical Engineering Competition (CERCo) CREATION 2024; 7th Winner of the PYC (Purnomo Yusgiantoro Center) Paper Competition International Energy Conference 2023; Gold Medal of Indonesia International Invention Expo (IIIEX) 2023 by Indonesian Young Scientist Association; Gold Medal of Tanoto Student Research Award 2022 by ITB, Tanoto Foundation; 1st Runner-Up Winner of the National Essay Competition PIAGAMA UGM 2022; and First Winner of the National Essay Competition SOLFACTION UNS 2022.
During her busy college life, Mutiara participated in organizations such as SPE UNDIP SC, serving as Head of Competition, LPM KINETIKA SC as Reporting Manager, and HMTK. She has been actively competing from the 2nd semester to the 5th semester, focusing on LKTI and essays at national and international levels. In the 5th semester, Mutiara actively participated in faculty research, resulting in the publication of a Scopus-indexed journal alongside her lecturer.
Mutiara is also eager to share her extensive and memorable experiences during her studies at UNDIP. “One thing I felt was that studying at UNDIP is not only supported by coursework but also by a positive environment and financial assistance as a UNDIP delegate to support all competition needs,” said Mutiara.
“I am grateful that UNDIP has facilitated my competition needs, allowing my team and me to focus more and achieve victory,” she added.
“Maximize all facilities and privileges as a student. Explore potential by trying various things such as organizations, committees, scholarships, research, laboratory assistantships, and competitions, then focus on one goal to be achieved. Do not give up before trying and striving for the best because education is the bright path to success!” Mutiara enthusiastically stated.
