UNDIP, Semarang (20/1) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) welcomed a delegation from Mindanao State University (MSU), Philippines. The visit aimed to strengthen institutional relations and explore opportunities for international cooperation in education, research, and community service.
The visit, held at UNDIP’s Tembalang Campus in Semarang, was part of the university’s ongoing efforts to expand its global network with overseas universities, particularly in Southeast Asia. During the meeting, both institutions discussed potential strategic collaborations that could be developed sustainably.
The Mindanao State University delegation was led by MSU System President, Atty. Paisalin P. D. Tago, CPA. She was accompanied by Executive Secretary of the Office of the President, Sittie Norhaya A. Tago, CPA; Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Minerva-Saminah M. Naga; Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension, Dr. Annie Mae C. Berowa; and members of the university leadership and deans of Mindanao State University.
On Tuesday (20/1), the series of activities began with a courtesy meeting between the Mindanao State University delegation and Universitas Diponegoro’s leadership. This session was followed by an Institutional Introduction, which included presentations on UNDIP’s profile, academic programs, research activities, and internationalization initiatives, and on Mindanao State University’s profile, followed by a joint discussion.
Also in attendance were the Vice Rector for Academic and Student Affairs of UNDIP, the Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Public Communication, Deans, Vice Deans for Academic and Student Affairs, and International Affairs Coordinators from various faculties (Faculty of Law, Faculty of Economics and Business, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, and the Vocational School), as well as the Director of Reputation, Partnership, and Global Connectivity and his team.
The Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Public Communication of Universitas Diponegoro, Wijayanto, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., stated that the visit marked an important momentum in strengthening UNDIP’s role as a globally oriented higher education institution. He emphasized that international cooperation is one of the key strategies for enhancing the quality of the university’s Tri Dharma.
“Through this visit, UNDIP opens broader space for dialogue and collaboration with partner universities abroad. We hope that this initial engagement can be followed up with concrete cooperation that brings mutual benefits,” said Wijayanto, Ph.D.
As a follow-up to the meeting, on the following day, the Mindanao State University delegation continued their agenda with visits and discussions at several faculties within UNDIP to explore more specific collaboration opportunities. The faculties involved included the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Economics and Business, the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences, and the Vocational School.
Through this activity, UNDIP once again reaffirmed its commitment as a higher education institution open to international collaboration and actively building strategic partnerships to enhance the quality of education, research, and tangible contributions to society.
