The Beauty of Sharing in the Holy Month: DWP UNDIP Holds Religious Studies and Provides Charity to Orphaned Students and TPQ Teachers

UNDIP, Semarang (March 7) – In celebration of the holy month of Ramadan, Dharma Wanita Persatuan Universitas Diponegoro (DWP UNDIP) organized a religious gathering and Ramadan Charity Program for orphaned students and Qur’anic Education Center (TPQ) teachers. This heartfelt event took place at the Hall of the Entrepreneurship Laboratory Building, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Diponegoro.

As a gesture of compassion and solidarity, DWP UNDIP distributed charity gifts to orphans and TPQ teachers, aiming to bring them joy and ease their burdens during the fasting month.

The gathering featured Ustadz Dimas Ana Fadly as the guest speaker, delivering a lecture on “The Secret to Ramadan’s Blessings in Attaining Forgiveness and Honor.” In his sermon, Ustadz Dimas emphasized the importance of wholeheartedly embracing Ramadan to receive divine blessings and forgiveness from Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala.

“Ramadan is a month full of blessings, offering us a chance to deepen our worship, share with others, and improve ourselves. As stated in Surah Al-Baqarah:183, fasting is prescribed for believers to attain piety. Let us use this sacred month as a moment for self-reflection and spiritual growth to draw closer to Allah,” he encouraged.

The event was attended by UNDIP Rector Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., who also serves as the Advisor of DWP UNDIP. In his opening remarks, he expressed his appreciation for DWP’s active role in social and religious activities, particularly during Ramadan.

“This initiative is truly inspiring and serves as a real testament to DWP UNDIP’s dedication to fostering positive social impact. May this spirit of sharing extend beyond Ramadan into other opportunities throughout the year,” said Prof. Suharnomo.

The Chairperson of DWP UNDIP, Dewi Widayani Suharnomo, highlighted that the religious gathering is part of DWP’s monthly routine activities. With Ustadz Dimas Ana Fadly’s insightful lecture, she hoped that participants would gain valuable knowledge and spiritual blessings, further motivating them in their Ramadan worship.

“May this gathering bring great benefits, helping us all enhance the quality of our worship and deepen our piety,” she expressed.

The Committee of this event, Noera Faisal, explained that DWP UNDIP also initiated a 10-day fundraising campaign, collecting infaq (donations), sadaqah (charity), and zakat maal (obligatory alms). The total funds raised amounted to IDR 75 million, which was distributed to 150 beneficiaries, including:

  1. 37 scholarship recipients from DWP UNDIP faculty and staff,
  2. 9 staff members and teachers from Permata UNDIP Early Childhood Education Center (PAUD),
  3. 54 orphaned students under the UNDIP Bidikmisi scholarship,
  4. 50 TPQ teachers within the UNDIP community.

This initiative was a moment of warmth and togetherness, where DWP UNDIP members shared happiness with orphaned students and TPQ teachers. Such efforts will strengthen social bonds and further cultivate a spirit of compassion and generosity within the UNDIP community. (DHW)
