A proud achievement has been made once again by a student from Diponegoro University (UNDIP). This time, Rendi Oktafian Ali Saputra, a student from the Physics undergraduate study program at the Faculty of Science and Mathematics class of 2023, succeeded in winning 1st place in Social Media—Category D and 6th place in Category D at the Indonesia Model Idol III 2024 competition.
This competition, supported by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, took place from June 28-30, 2024, at the Grand Arkenzo Hotel & BP VPP Semarang.
“Alhamdulillah, I am pleased to come home not empty-handed, but bringing home 2 awards, namely 1st place in Social Media and 6th place,” said Rendi.
With quite a short preparation time, Rendi was able to use his time effectively and maximize his talents and potential, resulting in satisfying achievements.
“The preparation time before the competition was concise, only 4 days. Once it was announced that I had passed, I immediately looked for costume sponsors, practiced catwalks, studied modeling and tourism knowledge, and prepared the talent of singing Javanese songs that were performed during the contest. I am very grateful to be at this point with such short preparation and to achieve satisfying results,” explained Rendi, who previously also won the Runner-Up in the Demak Regency Tourism Ambassador 2023.
This achievement adds to the list of accomplishments made by UNDIP students. Rendi’s advice to his fellow students is clear: always seize the opportunities that come your way. “It is better to fail but have tried than to fail because you never tried,” he said, inspiring us all to take risks and pursue our dreams.
