In order to accommodate and facilitate the interests and talents of Diponegoro University students in the field of sports, the Student Executive Board (BEM) of Diponegoro University held the Opening Ceremony of the 2022 Diponegoro Olympics (Olimdipo), Monday (09/10).
2022 Olimdipo is an activity carried out by the Student Executive Board of Diponegoro University Branch of Arts and Sports (SENIORA) which is expected to raise enthusiasm and give great appreciation in the field of sports especially at Undip, as well as to prepare Undip delegates in the Regional Student Sports Week (Pomda) and the National Student Sports Week (Pomnas) activities.
The purpose of the Olimdipo activities is to develop the interests and talents of Undip students in the field of sports, train student sportsmanship in competition, strengthen relations between faculties and schools through the field of sports, strengthen relations between leading athletes in Undip and athletes from universities throughout Indonesia, compete competitively with athletes from other universities at the provincial and national levels, give appreciation to athletes in Undip, and regenerate talented young athletes so that they can be useful for Undip as well as Indonesia.
In his remarks, the Head of the Academic and Student Affairs Bureau, Edy Surahmad, S.Pd., M.Si. said Olimdipo was one of the activities in the 65th Anniversary of Diponegoro University.
“Let’s follow Olimdipo series with sportsmanship. In a match losing and winning is normal. Achieving victory is certainly a hope in competing, but the most important thing is to start with enthusiasm. The seeds of student achievement will be born from Olimdipo, then we will develop them to produce future athletes,” he said. (Linda/Afifah – Public Relations)
