The Faculty of Medicine, Diponegoro University (FK UNDIP) was established on October 1, 1961 and has become one of the leading medical faculties in Indonesia. Integrated with Dr. Kariadi Hospital, FK UNDIP provides education for medical students, interns/co-as, and specialist residents. In 2007, this faculty was ranked 410th in the Life Science and Biomedicine category according to the THES-QS Top World University Rankings. Since the Japanese occupation, medical education in Semarang has been pioneered, but it was not until 1958, with the idea of ​​Dr. Heyder bin Heyder and Dr. Soerarjo Darsono, that the effort to establish a medical faculty was realized. The Faculty of Medicine was finally established in 1960 after going through various negotiations and the formation of a committee, with Dr. R. Atmadi Wreksoatmodjo as one of the driving forces.
