6th Anniversary, SV UNDIP Inaugurated Teaching Industry

Sunday, October 23, 2022, became the peak day of the 6th Anniversary of Undip Vocational School activities. Carrying the theme “Awakening Together with Vocational Education towards a Golden Indonesia 2045”, the Undip Vocational School is committed to realizing excellent applied higher education through strengthening the teaching industry, so as to improve student skills to become graduates who are ready to work. This commitment was realized by the inauguration of several teaching industries within the Undip Vocational School, namely the Contact Center (Digital Customer Service), Digital Engineering Operation Project (DENOP), BioDiesel Plant, Water Treatment Plant, Building Information Modeling (BIM), Digital Library, Innovation Business Center (IBC), Vocational Language Center, and Center for Technology Excellence.

“We are trying to improve the quality of vocational higher education through strengthening the teaching industry and the application of digitalization in all aspects to support student practice,” explained the Dean of the Undip Vocational School, Prof. Dr. Ir. Budiyono, M.Si.

The Dean who is also a Professor of Chemical Engineering Undip gave an example, the Contact Center is one of the teaching industries that provides practical experience to Vocational School students to realize excellent service to stakeholders through good communication skills. In addition, the BIM Center as one of the Leading Centers for Technology for Undip Vocational School in partnership with PT Waskita Karya opens internship opportunities for Vocational School students to work on projects in the construction and architecture fields accompanied by experienced lecturers. Students are given the opportunity to be involved in real projects, especially in construction planning.

“Undip Vocational School must be able to improve and develop their capacity so that they are able to graduate applied students who are competent and skilled in their fields and productive so that they have competitiveness,” said Prof. Dr. Ir. Ambariyanto, M.Sc as the Vice Rector for Research and Innovation of Diponegoro University when giving a speech.

The commemoration of the 6th Anniversary of the Undip Vocational School aims to strengthen the harmony between the Undip Vocational School academic community and the business and industrial world (DUDI) as well as alumni. The series of the 6th Anniversary of the Undip Vocational School events were enlivened by various competitions that were participated in by the academic community starting October 14, 2022, including the “Vocational Idol” singing competition to art performances. There was also a National Vocational Expo which was attended by 50 booths from all study programs within the Undip Vocational School, the Undip Vocational School 100 Young Entrepreneurs Program Team, several partner SMKs, MSMEs actors, and alumni networks who were members of the Applied Education Alumni Association (IAPAT).

Other series of the 6th Anniversary of the Vocational School include the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Diponegoro University and KADIN Central Java, 2022 Vocational International Program (VIP) Summer Course, to the IAPAT National Conference.

The person in charge of the 6th Anniversary of Undip Vocational School, Khristiana Dwi Astuti, S.T., M.T. added that the participation of alumni is very important to support success in realizing superior applied higher education institutions. For this reason, the involvement of IAPAT in the series of Undip Vocational School Anniversary events is expected to provide students with an overview of the challenges in the real world of work.

“This is an opportunity to discuss together with IAPAT what the needs of the world of work are, so that we can prepare human resources who are able to compete,” said the Head of the Undergraduate Program for Applied Spatial Planning and Land Planning (PTRP) of the Undip Vocational School.

The 6th Anniversary of the Undip Vocational School invited a number of parties, including the Director General of Vocational Education (Dirjen Diksi) Dr. Ir. Kiki Yuliati, M.Sc., Governor of Central Java Ganjar Pranowo, S.H., M.IP., Chairperson of KADIN Central Java Harry Nuryanto Soediro, S.E., M.M., Undip Rector Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum as well as Undip Vice Rectors, Chair of the Board of Trustees Prof. Mohamad Nasir, M.Si, Akt, Ph.D, Chair of the Academic Senate Prof. Ir. Edy Rianto, M.Sc., Ph.D., IPU, Head of LPPM Undip Prof. Dr. Jamari, S.T., M.T., Head of LP2MP Undip Prof. Dr. Ir. Setia Budi Sasongko, DEA, Deans at Undip Faculties/Schools, Chair and Secretary of Study Programs at the Undip Vocational School, and IAPAT.
