Inauguration of the 2nd Floor Closed House Cages of FPP UNDIP

“We hope that the Closed House Cage will be useful to produce superior breeders. There must be readiness for food availability every time and everywhere. Students of the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences at Diponegoro University must be prepared to become food producers,” said the Rector of Undip, Prof. Dr. Yos Johan Utama, S.H., M.Hum. in the Inauguration of the 2nd Floor Closed House Cages of the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences (FPP) Undip, Thursday (10/11).

Prof. Yos welcomed the collaboration with PT. Medion. Through the collaboration that has been established so far, students will be closer not only to the academic area but also to practice.

Dean of FPP Undip, Prof. Dr. Ir. Bambang Waluyo Hadi Eko Prasetyo, M.S., M.Agr., IPU said that the Closed House Cages are part of the entrepreneurship laboratory. In visiting international institutions it is recommended that all study programs at FPP to develop entrepreneurship in cooperation with both domestic and foreign companies.

“The purpose of establishing the Closed House Cages is to bring student learning and entrepreneurship closer to the world of work so that it is not just learning theory but directly or in real terms. This is at the same time a manifestation of student learning independence, namely having the right to innovate, create and develop themselves. In addition, it is a challenge how chicken livestock products can be accepted by the market with high quality. It is also hoped that it will become a forum for students, academics and practitioners to be active in exchanging ideas in creating competitive advantages in the field of national food security so that they are able to overcome the food crisis nationally,” explained Prof. Bambang. It was also added that FPP Undip had collaborated with PT. Medion, including providing scholarships to students.

While Peter Yan from PT. Medion said that this collaboration was expected to be even better in order to increase the competence and expertise of students in the field of animal husbandry and entrepreneurship. (Lin/Putri – Public Relations)
