UNDIP, Semarang (March 11) – In the spirit of Ramadan 1446 H, the Management of Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) Mosque continued its Joint Tarawih Prayers series with the university’s academic community. For the fourth round, the Faculty of Engineering hosted the event, supported by the Vice-Rector for Human Resources, Information Technology, Law, and Organization. The event took place at the 5th-floor Auditorium of the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering Office, UNDIP Tembalang Campus, on Tuesday, March 10, 2025.
The Joint Tarawih Prayers program is part of UNDIP’s Islamic outreach efforts, aimed at strengthening brotherhood and instilling Islamic values within academic and social life. Through this gathering, participants were encouraged to deepen their understanding of Ramadan’s virtues and apply its teachings in their daily lives.
The event was attended by university leaders, faculty members, staff, and students, who participated in the Tarawih and Witr prayers together. The gathering also received an Islamic lecture (tausiyah) from Dr. KH. Anasom, M.Hum., Chairman of Tanfidziyah PCNU Semarang City, on the theme “The Special Virtues of Ramadan.” In his lecture, KH. Anasom emphasized that the greatness of Ramadan has been highlighted not only in Islamic scripture but also in the practice of preparing for it six months in advance through prayers. “Therefore, we must truly prepare ourselves for fasting as commanded in QS. Al-Baqarah: 183–185,” he explained.
As he concluded his lecture, KH. Anasom urged the congregation to draw closer to Allah SWT and use this sacred month as an opportunity to strengthen faith, enhance worship, and increase acts of kindness and social care.
As the host, Prof. Dr. Ir. Jamari, S.T., M.T., IPU, ASEAN Eng., Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, expressed his appreciation for the fourth round of Tarling as a means of fostering Islamic brotherhood within the campus. “We sincerely thank all our guests and the Faculty of Engineering UNDIP staff who worked hard to organize this event. May we gain valuable insights from our esteemed speaker,” said Prof. Jamari.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Adian Fatchur Rochim, S.T., M.T., Vice-Rector for Human Resources, IT, Law, and Organization, highlighted Tarling as a moment for the UNDIP community to strengthen spirituality, unity, and social awareness during Ramadan.
“This sense of togetherness is essential in shaping academics with integrity and noble character. May this event bring blessings and benefits to all of us,” Prof. Adian stated.
The Joint Tarawih Prayers event at the Faculty of Engineering concluded with a collective prayer, marking another meaningful spiritual gathering. Similar events will continue across various faculties and schools at UNDIP, reinforcing the spirit of worship and unity throughout the university. (DHW)
