Faculty of Engineering Diponegoro University (FT UNDIP) is one of the leading faculties in Indonesia that is dedicated to producing superior human resources in the field of engineering. Established on October 15, 1960, FT UNDIP began as an Engineering Academy initiated by a number of visionary engineers in Semarang. With the Civil Engineering Department as the first major, the faculty continues to develop into a center for engineering education, research and innovation that is relevant to the needs of society. Located in Tembalang Campus, which was designed through a university development project, FT UNDIP now offers a variety of study programs with modern facilities and qualified teaching staff, making it one of the top choices for prospective students who aspire to become engineering professionals.
The Faculty of Engineering of Diponegoro University (FT UNDIP) was born from the big idea of a number of engineers such as Ir. Jacob Rais, Ir. Gunawan, Prof. Ir. Soemarman, and others to establish an engineering education institution in Semarang. Started as an Engineering Academy on October 20, 1958 at the University of Semarang, which was established on January 9, 1957, the academy then became the Faculty of Engineering on October 15, 1960, along with the name change of Semarang University to Diponegoro University by President Ir. Soekarno. Initially, lectures were held in buildings around Tugu Muda, then moved to MT. Haryono, Pleburan, and finally settled in Tembalang Campus since 1996. With the Civil Engineering Department as a pioneer, FT UNDIP continues to develop to produce quality human resources through various study programs that are in accordance with the needs of society.
