The Diponegoro University Civil Student Association (HMS Undip) has successfully held the 11th Civil Engineering Innovation Contest (CEIC) 2023 on Saturday, May 6, 2023 which took place at the Prof. Soedarto Building, Undip Tembalang Campus. At CEIC 2023 a Company Expo activity was also held.
Company Expo The 11th Civil Engineering Innovation Contest (CEIC) 2023 is one of a series of The 11th Civil Engineering Innovation Contest (CEIC) 2023 whose activities are in the form of holding corporate booths related to Civil Engineering.
Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Diponegoro University, Prof. Ir. M. Agung Wibowo M.M., M.Sc., Ph.D., explained that the Company Expo was a means to introduce themselves to each other between the world of education and industry.
“Students would get correct information from industry actors and it is hoped that these industry actors can get quality human resources from us. So this is a good opportunity to be able to interact and match each other between the need for good human resources and students who want a career in a stable company,” explained Prof. Agung.
“Second, this is part of the latest knowledge updates in the field. The innovations in the field are something students should know about. So this Company Expo is also a means for students to learn. Hopefully it can be an added value for students, especially when applying for jobs. At least they already understand what is currently needed by the industry,” continued Prof. Agung.
The concept of the Company Expo event is the presentation of company profiles, promoting products, existence and services owned by the company to visitors with the hope of broadening Civil Engineering students’ insights about the world of work in the future.
Besides holding expo of company booths, the Company Expo at The 11th Civil Engineering Innovation Contest 2023 also provided a FnB booth, as well as an exhibition of competition works which were also part of the CEIC 2023 series of activities.
The results of the competition displayed are in the form of video presentations by the finalists from the IBDC (International Bridge Design Competition), IDIC (International Dam Innovation Contest) and IBIC (International BIM Innovation Contest).
