UNDIP Rector’s Inauguration of New Officials: “Leadership is an Action, Not a Position”

UNDIP, Semarang (March 3) – Rector of Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP), Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., officially inaugurated newly appointed officials and swore in Permanent Non-Civil Servant Employees during the Inauguration Ceremony and Oath-Taking of UNDIP Permanent Non-Civil Servant Employees on Monday, March 3, 2025. The event took place at the SA-MWA Hall, UNDIP Tembalang Campus, at 9:00 AM. The event was attended by the Chair and Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees, Vice Rectors, Deans of Faculties/Schools, UNDIP officials, and guests.

This inauguration was based on Rector’s Decree Number 26/UN7.A/KP/I/2025, 27/UN7.A/KP/I/2025, 45/UN7.A/KP/II/2025, and 52/UN7.A/KP/II/2025, regarding the Appointment of Head of Management Department, Head of Doctoral Program in Economics, Secretary of Undergraduate Program in Islamic Economics, Secretary of Undergraduate Program in Digital Business, Faculty of Economics and Business, Deputy Head of Administration and Household Bureau, and Supervisor of Administration Sub-Division of Library and UNDIP Press UNDIP. Additionally, the Rector’s Decree Number 40/UN7.A/KP/II/2025 to 41/UN7.A/KP/II/2025 regarding the Appointment of UNDIP Permanent Non-Civil Servant Employees.

Six officials were officially sworn in for new roles:

  1. Mahfudz, S.E., M.T. – Head of the Management Department, Faculty of Economics and Business
  2. Siti Mutmainah, S.E., Akt., M.Si. – Head of the Doctoral Program in Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business
  3. Arif Pujiyono, S.E., M.Si. – Secretary of the Undergraduate Program in Islamic Economics, Faculty of Economics and Business
  4. Eisha Lataruva, S.E., M.M. – Secretary of the Undergraduate Program in Digital Business, Faculty of Economics and Business
  5. Rudi Yuniarto Adi, M.T. – Deputy Head of the Bureau of Administration and Household Affairs
  6. Linda Wahyuningsih, S.I.Kom. – Supervisor of the Administrative Subdivision of the UNDIP Library and UNDIP Press

Additionally, two Permanent Non-Civil Servant Employees were sworn in and will serve as nurses at Diponegoro National Hospital.

The oath-taking was led by Rector Prof. Suharnomo, who religious officials accompanied. This session was followed by the signing of the Oath-Taking Minutes by the Rector, alongside the Vice Rector for Human Resources, IT, Law, and Organization, Prof. Dr. Adian Fatchur Rochim, S.T., M.T. and the Deputy Chair of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. Yusriyadi, S.H., M.S., as witnesses.

In his remarks, Prof. Suharnomo highlighted Indonesia’s challenges in an era of turbulence, where efficiency has become a pressing issue across various sectors. He emphasized the need for adaptation among all elements of the university to keep up with these changes. “Efficiency has been a major issue recently, and UNDIP is no exception. We must all adapt to these new circumstances,” he stated.

Beyond adaptation, Prof. Suharnomo also stressed the importance of action-based leadership. “Leadership is an action, not a position. It’s about what you do, not just the title you hold. At every level, we must demonstrate the best leadership performance,” Prof. Suharnomo asserted.

He also reminded the faculty and staff of their responsibility to provide the best service to students. “Treat students like our own children, but also recognize that they have the right to receive the best possible service. Please understand this,” he urged.

Finally, Prof. Suharnomo encouraged all newly appointed officials to create meaningful change and leave a lasting legacy at UNDIP. “Nothing we do is in vain. Every unit plays a crucial role in building the UNDIP we love. So, make a difference and leave a legacy in your leadership journey,” he concluded.
