Therefore, strengthening the role of libraries as centers of knowledge, research, and innovation is essential. Access to high-quality literature and adequate research facilities will be key to advancing academic excellence at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UNDIP.
“The facilities at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UNDIP already meet international standards. The next challenge is to enhance academic quality. I highly appreciate this step and hope that this spirit continues. Moving forward, we must strengthen the academic atmosphere and optimize our vast potential to improve the faculty ranking in the World Class University (WCU) rankings,” he stated.
Vice Rector IV, Wijayanto, Ph.D., expressed hope that the inauguration of this internationally standardized library would mark a significant milestone in creating an internationally recognized academic environment at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UNDIP. The library is expected to inspire the entire academic community to cultivate a world-class academic culture.
“As per the Rector’s directive, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences is one of the faculties leading UNDIP’s efforts to break into the world’s top 500 universities. More specifically, it must take the lead in supporting UNDIP’s target of achieving 3,000 Scopus-indexed publications by 2025, encouraging each lecturer to publish at least two Scopus-indexed articles per year,” he added.
Dean of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UNDIP, Dr. Drs. Teguh Yuwono, M.Pol.Admin., explained that the term ‘Encouraging’ in FIMEL’s name reflects the library’s purpose as a space that motivates the academic community to keep producing scholarly works. Meanwhile, “Madany” refers to the concept of civil society and the city of Madinah as a symbol of enlightenment, embodying the hope that the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences will continue to shine in the academic world.
With the establishment of FIMEL, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences UNDIP aims to boost academic productivity through internationally recognized publications and support students in completing their studies on time. The library is expected to enhance the academic atmosphere within the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences and contribute more broadly to the advancement of knowledge and research.
