UNDIP Wins Award from Mendiktisaintek, Three Fields of Study Enter Top 500 QS WUR by Subject

UNDIP, Semarang (March 20) – Universitas Diponegoro (UNDIP) has once again achieved international recognition. In the QS World University Rankings (WUR) by Subject 2025, three academic disciplines from UNDIP secured spots among the world’s top 500.

This achievement was acknowledged by the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Mendiktisaintek), Prof. Brian Yuliarto, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D., who personally presented an award to UNDIP Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, S.E., M.Si., during a ceremony held at Graha Diktisaintek, Jakarta, on Thursday, March 20, 2025.

The three UNDIP subjects ranked in the QS WUR by Subject 2025 are:

  1. Legal & Legal Studies(Ranked 301-350), primarily contributed by the Faculty of Law.
  2. Agriculture & Forestry (Ranked 351-400), supported by the Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences.
  3. Business & Management Studies(Ranked 451-500), with significant contributions from the Faculty of Economics and Business.

Minister Prof. Brian Yuliarto expressed his most profound appreciation to university leaders who have elevated Indonesia’s reputation on the global stage. “Congratulations to all award recipients. This achievement is the result of collective efforts across the entire academic community. May this recognition serve as motivation to continue improving education quality and inspire further contributions to national progress,” he stated.

UNDIP Rector, Prof. Dr. Suharnomo, expressed his gratitude for this milestone and thanked the entire UNDIP academic community for their hard work and dedication. He emphasized that this success is not the result of a single entity but a collective victory made possible through collaboration across departments, faculties, and university institutions.

“We especially appreciate the contributions of the Faculty of Law (FH), Faculty of Animal and Agricultural Sciences (FPP), and Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) for representing UNDIP in this ranking. Hopefully, in the coming years, even more subjects will break into the top 500 globally,” Prof. Suharnomo added.

Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, Cooperation, and Public Communication, Wijayanto, S.IP., M.Si., Ph.D., highlighted that this ranking reflects UNDIP’s growing academic quality at an international level. He noted that UNDIP’s inclusion in QS World University Rankings by Subject 2025 serves as concrete proof of the university’s globally recognized excellence in education, research, and innovation.

“Moving forward, UNDIP will continue striving for excellence in various aspects that support its World Class University (WCU) status, such as academic reputation, employer reputation, faculty citations, and expanding global research and partnership networks so that more subjects can enter the global rankings,” said Wijayanto, Ph.D.

Expanding International Recognition

Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Ir. Hadiyanto, S.T., M.Sc. IPU, UNDIP’s Director of Reputation, Partnerships, and Global Connectivity, expressed optimism that more academic disciplines will achieve global rankings in the coming years.

“This award from the Ministry is a recognition of UNDIP’s efforts in internationalization programs. We hope that next year, three to four additional subjects will be included in the QS by Subject ranking. UNDIP’s World Class University (WCU) program is expected to propel even more subjects into the world’s top 500,” he stated.
